We've been working with some designer/builders to remove our carport and build a formal garage, bumping out our entry and a full kitchen remodel. Aside from the cornholeo feeling of some of the quotes we've received, I'm seeing options of Feng Shui consulting, certifications??

Snake oil or just fluffing up a designer's resume?? Anyone had their home Feng Shuided??

Yes, but the key is it's different for everyone. While red may set you off, it may calm me. Same thing with a room design. You need to know the person it's being designed for.

Sunflowers have either 34, 55 or 89 petals on their face, depending upon the size of the sunflower. This number is based from the Fibonacci number

Yup, I like things to be perfectly imperfect. A slight flaw feels more natural to me.

Without knowing or thinking about Feng Shui there are a number of things that I have placed in my home that are appropriate for Feng Shui.

Yeah, so this is a local attempt.. Definitely affects most people that visit but, I don't think it's peaceful.

Some Chinese people are incredibly into Feng Shui ... i.e. my ex-wife (Chinese).. When we were setting up our bedroom insisted that our bed follow a north/south meridian even though my house had no wall perpendicular to the meridian... so our, now my bed,is not perpendicular to the wall, its on a skew in the room...I kept it like that after our divorce..

Also, In flushing NY, there is a piece of prime real estate, where restaurants are doomed to failure It was explained that the business failures happen because of bad Feng Shui.. The entrance is not right and cannot be fixed..

Thousands of years of observations are the foundation..

Can you apply it to kitchen remodels? Designing our new kitchen with Mrs SAT has been more stressful than seeing one of your systems being used to acquire target and track transfer orbit for the first time.

Excuse the rudimentary model.. It's already down Rev as the Pantry and Fridge are moving to the left to accommodate a wall oven and microwave and across the room, the window bench is being replaced by extended lower cabinets. The program won't allow a waterfall design on the island counter top so, just imagine it,,,

Further left of the Pantry will be the door to freedom,,,, My new garage.

Fixing other person's situations is darn easy: There is a problem. Need to do this. Do that. Do that next. Wrap it up. It's completed. Done. Next.

Fixing my own 'stuff' seems to require applying to a distant authorization committee to review logistics before a review planning commission can give the go ahead to approve acceptance for even considering the project. Then there is a wait period for approval. Then I finally realize it's a stupid thing which needs a few afternoon hours to get crossed off the schedule and end that head pain.
