Naw. I must admit though it seemed weird to have something go into your nose and set off a scratchy feeling in the back of your throat. It wasn't as bad as having the ENT thread a fiber optic scope into my sinuses.

He has to walk the needle along the bone and when he starts injecting the corticosteroid. Moves the needle a little and injects some more. That shot is damned painful!

When I've had cortisone injections for tennis elbow... the orthopedist does that.. My elbow is raised, fist on the counter.. freezes the joint, then walks the needle around injecting....

I've had it done 2X, and both times he said that I would hate him for a few days.. then my elbow would be fine...

Black and blue and sore for a few days... then a few years of relief...

BTW, I've never played tennis..

Worst ones I do are for plantar warts, especially if I can't get to them by injecting from the top of the foot. An injection of local with epinephrine through the plantar skin will make you a sad clam.

I had great success with acupuncture for carpal tunnel, so decided to try it for trigger finger.

I will never pay my hard earned money to inflict that much pain on myself nor anyone else for that matter. Like others have said, it is possibly the most pain I've endured. Holy Moly!

I tore the flesh off a finger twice. Once, it was caught in a tractor PTO drive. Inside the U-joint. I was changing an out of balance one, and the damn greasy thing fell out of my hands and "crunch". Second time, I was checking my Cayman front wheel to see if it was out of round after hitting a pothole (it was). Finger was pushing the wheel round and round, faster and faster. Finger got caught on a spoke, and then hit the Brembo 6-piston caliper. Wheel immediately stopped turning. Blood everywhere and you could see the bone. It took hours to stop the bleeding by wrapping it and kept the hand in an ice bucket with water. I had to freeze the finger to get blood to stop.

I have no idea how I managed to not break any bones in my life so far.

Back in the last century I was an unlucky HS senior on a ski trip. Good old lake-effect whiteout somewhere south of Charlevoix, mi.

In my 17yo wisdom I decided it would be wise to stop a pickup truck from the passenger seat in a Honda. Turns out that was unwise.

A few hours later in the hospital a chest tube is called for. Dr. says "hold on, this is gonna hurt!"

Yup - turns out them Drs are pretty smart. Funnier was getting catheterized. Nurse says not to fight it - Sure, lady, you can _say_ that but let's be honest on what this 17yo's pee-system is going to do...

I have a hammer toe that needs fixing. Not as bad as the trigger finger.

On Shingrix, my first inject hurt because an incompetent gave me the shot! Second one was easy, but I was really tired the next day. Not as bad as #2 Moderna.

I got pretty bad ingrown toenails as a kid. Had to get the doc to pop them out every so often. Always hated the injections between the toes. Hate injections in the mouth, too. Nothing else really bothers me.

Pain was when I "scalped" myself. I'm a ginger--and bald, so the sun is my mortal enemy, but I think it's my friend for some reason. Long volleyball tournament in Mexico left my head nice and burnt--REALLY burnt. Getting in my car, i misjudged the height and hit my head on the frame--peeled back a really nice chunk of skin. That hurt for days, and I started wearing hats.

I’ve had surgery for hammertoe. That was worth it and they put you under for the operation.

As a kid I managed to break my big toe in 6 places. It was squashed under a heavy object. My toenail was black, and throbbing. At the hospital the doc had FOUR large orderlies follow him into the room. Both legs and both arms pinned to the table and he gave me a stick to bite down on. Then he tells me this will hurt for a few seconds and then feel instantly better.

He heated up a large needle in a flame, and got it cherry red, and then poked it right through my toenail. I was struggling, but with four guys holding me down I was pinned. Once the needle burned through my toe, it squirted black blood up past hip, and it was almost like an orgasm with the instant relief. Then they put me in a cast up to my knee and sent me home with crutches.

It was some of the worst pain I experience as a kid. Breaking my arm was not near as bad.
