				iphone won’t read QR code

last few restaurants had QR code for menus. my phone wouldn’t read them. i have it switched on under the camera settings. anything else i can do besides trying a QR code app? iphone Xs with latest OS update. it used to work fine.

I was out to lunch yesterday and the other guy had to ask for a paper menu, since his phone would not work with the QR code. Also an iPhone. My Samsung worked fine.

Turn off the feature, restart your phone, turn it back on. That seems to fix a lot of weird iphone issues.

It works…..I assume you are not trying to take a photo, just open the camera app and point it at the QR code…..depending on your phone and it’s internet connection, it might take a second for a pop-up to appear that lets you launch the web browser where the menu will open….it’s not intuitive at first….but should work.

The first thing to try with any computer or phone issue is restart. I assume you have restarted it recently. The check the Apple web site for fixes to the issue. Someone else has always had the problem first, and the tech section will have answers.

Interesting. I've never had this issue before, but I'm having it now. Trying the disable, reboot, enable option. Nope, that didn't work, I'll try rebooting again once I can leave the zoom meeting that I'm in.

not exactly the same, but... (no answer that I see) https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/663921 ramonesfreak, do you have any apps from a company that you work for installed that give them any control on your phone?

Nevermind. My phone still reads QR. It wouldn't read a very specific QR because I needed to install an app that the QR was targeting before the QR would read.
