My 911 only has 178,000 miles but will have 180K+ by the end of the month. And it has been to 41 states and Canada with me in the driver's seat.

Every part of the 911 and my El Camino work as delivered from the factory, or much better. On the Elky I threw out the useless POS computer controlled Rochester carb and put on a home made fuel injection system. When I did it, no one sold aftermarket systems. Now there are dozens but my system works great, and no reason to fix what ain't broken.

The 911 has AC twice or three times better than stock.

I went for a 25 minute test drive this week to make sure the AC was in top condition. I had the system at max cold, and max blow with the hurricane motor. I was freezing cold and the return line to the compressor was iced over. Lots of cold air and a cool compressor.

I haven't broken the 200K mile mark on any of my cars before the rust has destroyed them.
I've owned a few trucks that I've put over a million miles on.

1996 Peterbuilt that i sold about 5 years ago

So even a 1996 truck had the stupid 55 limit marked on it?

To be honest I changed out the spedo in my 1986 El Camino. It was an 85 MPH limit, and a giant red 55 on the dial. I found a used one on EBay that has a 115 limit, and a trip odometer. I sent it to a guy in Ohio for a total refurbish and had him set it for my current mileage. So the mileage is actually just 20 miles or so short, but on a car from 1986, with no way to know how many times it has rolled over past 99,999 miles it is totally irrelevant. No doubt spedo error is off more than a few miles after all the years and miles.

BMW 323ic

I went over 300,000 miles on my 1998 BMW 323ic. It only required me to pull over once, with a coolant hose issue. The head never came off, and the clutch was original.

My 1983 911sc odometer stopped in 2015 at 409,000. I fixed it recently and rolled it forward to 419,000 based on SWAG analysis. The original owner, according to carfax, went 321,000. miles. The doors still make the appropriate sound.

I put 325,000 on a '92 BMW 325i... Engine was never opened, ran on dyno oil and the last couple oil changes were at about 20,000 each (I put a clutch in it at 285k because the throwout bearing was squealing). Car still ran good when I sold it.

Dad put over 500k on a 1990's Accord before the timing belt or chain broke and grenaded the engine.
