Customer Feedback

I can't make a purchase these days without a demand from the merchant for customer feedback. "Please Take This Survey", "Would You Recommend to a Friend", How Would You Rate Your Experience".

I've paid you for goods or services, the exchange has taken place - let's leave it at that. If I return you'll know I was satisfied the first time. If I'm unhappy you may also hear from me.

However, if you need to make a telephone inquiry to some of these same folks (utilities are the worst) you hear: "We are experiencing an unusually high volume of calls right now, your satisfaction is very important to us".

I just got an email from a purchase made online from a bike shop: "How would you rate your experience?" I couldn't say - your package hasn't even made it to my doorstep yet.

Garage
While sitting in my truck at Home Depot waiting for my online curbside pick up I get the Feedback email.
You think they could dial this in (or maybe they don't know it's f##ed up)

We bought a mattress from a company and they emailed and texted order and delivery confirmation, and we have never hear from them again. I think they lost our information.

A). I let a grocery store know that one of their frozen mixed seafood products had pieces of clear ground plastic in it.
(It was indistinguishable from the ice crystals. Only discovered because I had thawed it in water)
No company communication at all.
The product was still in the store freezer a week later and also a few months later.
They simply didn't care.

2). Got a bad olive oil product. Rancid and chemical. Puked.
I'd had the same experience with same product before, but had forgotten the brand and bought it again by mistake.
Company called back immediately and wanted all sorts of information. Recorded for legal purposes etc.
They wanted a lot of personal information as well. Too much IMO.
Over-vigilance perhaps. Can't fault that. Hopefully it gets fixed and another person isn't affected.
