It's gotta be tough to make a decision like that.
Not wanting to let the others down.
An awesome career!

If you mean me, I'm a lifetime fan and have been to every one of their concerts I could attend in US and or Europe. Can't believe they're still doing concerts at their age, and after their old lifestyle. Amazing! Likely will go to the concert in Vegas since my son lives there and has some contacts.
$$'s this tour is really high, but again this "may" be their last and final tour together.

I've never been a huge Stones fan, although I really like some of their music - and I fully appreciate their long-lived legacy.

But what I really love to see more than anything is these musicians and recording artists who continue to perform.

I know it's mostly because they love making music so much, although the income is probably it's own driving force as well.

At this point - all bets are off as to how long the legends are going to last. We've lost so many great ones already.

Keep on rockin'!!!

^^ yea sorry. thought you were a hater

i think this is it. I dont see Charlie coming back and Keith always said, when Charlie is done, he is done. If not for contractual reasons, I think they would be calling it quits now. I would be disappointed going and not having Charlie there but its better than nothing. Have fun. Report back how it was

RE: Stones sound better today — given the electronics today, everyone sounds better. No doubt they can still play good licks but any mistakes or out of tune get fixed live by the sound man and software.

And that's for our enjoyment. We don't need to tell someone to go home. They'll go home when they feel like it.

FYI The stones are not using auto tune on their live guitar rigs. I have never seen any rock band do that...just doesnt happen...

And you can definitely hear Keith struggle with his arthritis live, he plays a ton of bum notes and has for many years.. you can hear it live....how he plays at all with those fingers i do not know

btw Zeke, i generally don’t like stadium shows either. i’ve seen a lot of them. but i have to say that the PA systems used now, along with the software used to make adjustments in the mix in accordance with the unique acoustic properties of the venue have made a big difference. two notable shows recently have been both Stones shows at Buffalo bills stadium and new jersey stadium and U2 in cleveland. i left saying wow that was great. this along with the huge screens made it more than acceptable compared to even the 1990s. and way better than the 80s

the gap between the performer and your ears and eyes has been significantly reduced with technology

what i find is the biggest turn off with stadiums is having to climb all the stairs that are practically vertical. this is no fun at all for me if my seats are off the floor

vvv Well done. The Rolling f'ing Stones. AM/FM in the 60's in Cali, KRLA. Why not tour? I plan on living my life to the fullest every day until it ends.

and from what ive seen of them recently, they have no reason to stop unless health prevents it. If they sounded like crap, i would say time to hang it up - but they dont sound like crap. they sound better than they ever did

Same for Paul McCartney. Saw him 2 years ago. He was amazing and obviously having a great time doing it despite being ancient

you think these guys need to work? obviously they dont

i usually find your posts well thought out but this one, well its strange and judgmental...who gives a damn what jeans they wear?

these guys aren't re-living their youth, they are musicians. they live to make music...if they cant do that then what is the point in living to them? you would think more of them if they just sat around their tropical villas (more than they already do) instead of playing their music for people?

I guess BB King should have hung it up too? I guess Buddy Guy should just croak already? Should Iggy put his shirt back on and go live in a cave? Maybe Dick Dale should have dropped the act and hung it up 40 years ago?

I for one thank god the Stones are still out there making the world a more interesting and fun place to be. The world has become a pile of ***** as far as entertainment is concerned.

The Stones (and Aerosmith) should have stopped around 1980

I went to see them in '96 just as seeing history. I wanted to be able to say that I saw the Rolling Stones. Joanna and I had the last row at Dodgers Stadium. We both were sceptical

We are both fans now.

In 2006 we saw them in Las Vegas. And again had bad seats. Joanna was in a wheelchair for her first time in public. We got spotted by the ADA crew and got escorted to the handicap seating. Stage right, 20' higher than the stage it was incredible

We have tickets for the LA show. The Handicap seats that we can afford arr plenty far from the stage but we are both excited to get to see them again. Will it be the last time? I hope not but I am realizing that they might not be here much longer

The RS put on a slick show..i think they as of late they are playing with some juice again.

But nothing compares to the howl from he11 69 tour.Their playing was on the edge and that was borne out at Altamont. They lost that edge at Altamont.

Listen to the Second 69 Oakland show the LA show the Baltimore show and the movie Gimme Shelter which chronicals the MSG show and Altamont. Also.watch Rock And Roll Circus, 69 Hyde Park, and the Jumping Jack Flash promo.vids. There is an on the edge intensity that was lost after Altamont. In 72 they substituted energy for intensity and by 75 were bloated jet setters..although i liked the sloppiness of the playing as they meandered off script.

Every tour since 81 has been a slickly staged entertainment extravaganza. As of late they are playing because they want to as they enjoy it..maybe they know their time is short. Thay is why they have more pedal to the metal
