I'm a bit shocked in a happy way. I didn't think it would hit 40K with only 3 minutes to go but then the fireworks started. Crazy money for a non Tii 2002 but I guess I'll take it.

Outstanding. I missed the fireworks but watched it at $20k for a long while.

Good for you!

I'd probably take it, too. Soooo, you think you made any money on it? Just asking. Not at all important.

Puts the 2002 firmly into the collector car world...

Translation: No longer for enthusiasts...

Wow!
I thought I did well buying my '68 1600 in '72 w/25k miles on it and selling it 9 yrs later for $100 less than I'd paid for it after putting 110k more miles on it too.

Nice sale.

I'd submit that we haven't seen the end of high prices. Creeping up as time goes on for almost any internal combusted vehicle that has sporting pretensions, rarity or just plain demand. A reality barring any scenario where laws are made against them.

I made money on it. Unless you take into account the many, many hours invested. But those were good hours. You know how it is, the journey

That is hardly a 'pretty standard 2002'.

I'm thinkin Tesla S of course! All in good time though.
I recently picked up a clean Subaru WRX with a bad engine, I had a new engine built and I'm breaking it in now. I'm dealing with this project before I buy anything else

I like the square taillights and the black grille. I'd love to put together a '74-75 with a 2.3L 6-cylinder and put the earlier chrome bumpers on it...

How long did the project take?
When was it completed?
Why did you sell it?

Possibly. A BAT record was also set recently for another car. $33K for a 90s Celica Alltrac. These have hovered around $10K for a long time. I have a 93 and mine is in much better condition.
