I too, have a knife problem...

Favorite is easily an antique kitchen knife I repurposed into a shop knife.

Brazilian Rosewood handles. Big brass rivets. Carbon steel blade I cut down and shaped into a 3" blade.

It has some charm. Killer functionality.

Damn handy and the size and shape are just right.

My first benchmade and one that I used a lot was a Benchmade Crawford Leopard Cub. I think I got it 1995.
https://cdn.arizonacustomknives.com/...0709-25298.jpg

Then I upgraded to a Benchmade AFCK which was far better for me at the time. I think I daily carried (and used) this one for many years when I was bartending. I used it to cut up lemons and limes for drink garnish.

I can't remember what I switched to after that. When I transitioned from bartending to IT, the AFCK was too big when sitting at a desk. I tried and went through several other Benchmades.

The next favorite of mine was a special edition Osbourne 940 in red with G-10 inlay.

Then I switched to the carbon fiber model.

Now I'm carrying a Benchmade Emissary 470
https://s.yimg.com/aah/knifeart/benc...g-knife-79.jpg

I've got one of the mini-reflex knives, it was one of the first 3 Benchmades that I got. It's a nice little knife, but it would be better if it was bigger.
https://www.benchmade.com/media/cata..._1000x1000.jpg

I also eventually got an AFO. I've wanted one since I read an article about them probably 30 years ago.
https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-k2pa...158591.jpg?c=2

I'd like to have one of their butterfly knives, but just could never justify the spend. I had something very similar years ago. I may still have it in a box somewhere, but I'd like a Benchmade.

I've got a handful of other BM knives as well, but those above are either knives that saw a lot of use or that I really like.

I bought something tiny just before Covid hit. I wouldn't have carried it in a pocket, but I usually carried a back pack to/from work, so I'd have had it with me a lot of the time. The plan was if it was good, to maybe have one in the console of the car or something.

Puma "Hunter's Pal." Our (now deceased) lab chewed up the beautiful, hand-tooled sheath back when she was a pup...but the knife itself is perfect.

wildthing 09-30-2021 07:47 PM

Has it been six months already?

I guess a flashlight thread is next.

herr_oberst 09-30-2021 08:26 PM

Will there be a fleshlight joke this time around? Only time will tell.

sc_rufctr 09-30-2021 09:16 PM

I'm getting some serious "G.A.S." looking at those Benchmade's.

svandamme 10-01-2021 02:55 AM

Take a look at Shun. You will like them.

Besides the Uncle Henry given to me by my father many memories ago, my only pocket knife is a Kershaw assisted-opening unit which I find very functional.

I don't think I'd carry one in my pocket, but they are great little knives.

I bought mine from a Continental Deli but I don't carry a knife in my pocket.
- It's either on my desk in my office or it's in my tool bag.

The best part: It's not made in China.

I've got a several, my favs are various Benchmades. I've carried almost all of them daily at some point. I've got a couple that I bought because I wanted and haven't carried more than a couple of times. I'm sure that I'd love to have really expensive stuff, but that co$t$, so I don't even look.

Here is the picture requested.

Very cool. I've seen them for sale various places, but they always look like cheap stuff made for tourists.

That one looks really nice. I'd always wondered what the two little knives were for.

Buck 110. Excellent hunting knife.

More of a kitchen and picnic knife, it's not tacticool that's for sure, but I dig these. They come in stainless and traditional carbon steel and in a number of sizes.

Cheap enough to buy a few and "forgetting" it's in there at the airport doesn't hurt too much.

They take a good edge as well.

Yep, another post farther up. I got the carbon steel version (wanted to try carbon on something cheap). Amazing edge!

I learned about them here on the board years ago. What's really cool is that a lot of folks buy them and then carve the handles.

I bought an Opinel because of another knife thread here. It stays in my gym bag but haven't used it. I am glad this thread hasn't gotten me to buy another knife. :D
