Is anyone using a display box? I’m thinking I need one and may even build my own, but I thought I would see what ya’ll are doing.

How about something like this? Made for fat fountain pens but I'd bet most folding knives would fit.

then they MAKE this. it's the GiantMouse Sonoma. i live in Sonoma County, so it's damn near a prerequisite knife for me. and they blacked it out!! i feel its really good looking.

but so is the two $100 bills i have. good looking. grrrr.

Oh man, I own a shameful number of Shun knives... one of those "don't add up how much this all cost" items in my house. My Riedel stemware and Steuben barware are a close second in that category.

I've got a few Shuns. They are all "classic" because they have to match. I love the new "blonde" and really love the "premium".
We've got the 7" 'sumo' santoku, the 7" santoku, the 9" carving, 4" paring and the offset bread knife (and the steel and shears). I like the 'sumo' because if I'm chopping a huge pile of something, it keeps my knuckles farther from the cutting board.

The wife just recently picked up one of these. I'm not sure it'll ever get used, but she wanted it and I wasn't going to argue.

No Sir. It actually came that way with all of the hammer marks. It's highly polished high carbon steel with chromium, called Shun Premier. It's like a blend of carbon steel and "stainless steel". The agility of these knives is incredible. They also have true Damascus style blades:

I think I'll buy a Dual Core from them next. I think they are simply the best knives out there, unless you get one custom made from an artisan.

I’ve got an old Buck 110 that I used for just about everything on the ranch. It’s pretty much a letter opener now.

I've had this Buck on the left since 1971. I used to carry it frequently and take it into the Sierras. I sent it in to Buck a few years ago, and they sharpened and polished it up. Since then it's been mostly stored as a relic of fond memories. The one on the right was bought in the early 2000's & has a titanium handle - great knife.

tschumi - they are very pretty. I don't have one (yet) but I can see the appeal, like a granton slicer, maybe not so likely to stick to stuff.
