Just One Of Those Days
In September, I got a call asking if I could play at the Legion on November 5th. Sure, see you then.
Yesterday I was driving through town and noted that the name on the sign wasn't mine. A few phone calls revealed the guy who had done the booking had screwed up. I said they should let it ride, as the sign was up and the posters were in place. Two hours later the phone rings again. The other guy can't play. Could I make it? Yeah. Don't forget to change the sign. Glad I didn't throw away the play list.  I know this happens to some people all the time. My wife says she probably would have told him to go F himself, but life is too short and the town is too small. How do you handle other people's screw ups? Best Les

I do have the following as part of the play list: Tom Petty's Stop Dragging My Heart Around Gordon Lightfoot's If You Could Read My Mind and Paul Simon's American Tune. Years ago, there was a duet from Cape Breton called McLean and McLean. They had a song called F... Ya. That might be a bit too much. Keep on keeping on! Best Les

Billybek, I only saw them once in the fall of '75. I don't recall the pubic hair song.
I suspect it might not be appropriate in these gentler times.  About as racy as I get is Lorne Elliott's Tonight's The Night We're Gonna Get Granny Plastered. Best Les

I would have embebed the video here but I don't think that it would have survived long without someone being banned...
Sung to the tune of "I've Been Everywhere". I think I saw them at a university event or something in the 80s but my memory of that time may be slightly clouded.

This afternoon I was in town again. The sign still hasn't been changed!
You could have heard my eyes roll from inside the building. Come to think of it, last winter I opened a set by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight the part of (name on the sign) will be played by me, Les. Of course if they think the show sucked, they might blame it on the guy whose name they read on the sign outside. If you guys don't tone down some of the set suggestions, I won't be able to use any of them. Maybe I should write something... Best Les
