LOL. A lot of folks would say the same about some of the OT regulars (of which I consider myself). That is probably why those same OT regulars keep making political posts in OT and wondering why others (that may also post on PARF) disagree.

Apparently your reality is not the reality observed by a large portion of the nation. Why do you believe you are the arbiter of which is accurate and why do your arguments fare so badly (if based in reality)?

Guys - are you two jonesing to turn this thread into a PARF thread? Hop over to PARF and have you way at it (but keep with the forum rules).

This is not a post to continue with PARFy stuff. Nor is it an opportunity to "air your grievenances..." Have some control...

Good advice. I left the thread alone and came back to see a few dozen posts trashing folks from PARF (with no response) including one that called me out by name. Obviously ignoring these does not have any sort of soothing effect, it just encourages folks who choose not to pay nice. No personal grievances here at all (at least not by me)...I just don't like the cheap shots (that always continue if they are not responded to). I don't start political threads here or make threads calling out moderators, I only make "corrections" to misinformation posted here. I am happy to keep PARF in PARF, but folks just keep posting PARF topics or personal attacks here...so that is where I respond. Have them post them in PARF where they are supposed to if they want to "PARF them up"...and that is where I will respond. Calling me out in OT does not keep me in PARF. A cheap shot is a cheap shot...especially in OT where all pretend they are civil while doing just the opposite.

Just so you know, the one that called you out by name was warned not to do so in a PM. It didn't slide by.

Fair enough. I just hate these wankfests...where people try to get others they disagree with banned (for disagreeing). The tactic has worked in the past (with other moderators), so it keeps recycling. These are essentially just a way to make personal attacks against a handful of posters while pretending they are not breaking the rules. There are lots of solutions if a person disagrees with another's post. Ignore it, make a better argument, etc. It should be obvious to the folks here that they simply don't see the world the same as others. That is normal and should not be such a big surprise. What is a big surprise is the constant call to silence those that disagree (or dub them as "crazy" as was done in this thread).

There is room enough for everyone.

My apologies to fint also, I didn't mean to call you out.... and was just pointing out to Nick where he "went off" on you recently. I actually defended you as I recall while you two "went at it". Everyone who's been around here for two decades has baggage, and I don't recall ever posting REAL political stuff here in OT ... not since DD made it known to keep PAR out of OT a couple of years ago. I think I posted a thread about GWB's artwork of wounded warriors .... purely complimentary and it was either deleted or moved.... and that's fine. The rules changed .... out of the blue back then as DD started mod duties. That was also the purpose of this thread. DD started out editing posts and threads and no one even knew he was a mod and called him on it... and rightfully so.

That said ... I wish Nick and Paul success and PPOT will be a lot better for all and PARF will still be .... well ... it will be :D
