Actually this topic, specifically Mr / Miss CYTT, reminded me of a particular 'boss' who would walk into a room, and immediately suck all the energy out by talking about himself/hobbies, experiences, whatever.
Case in point: I work for a large local Va county agency. I started over at the bottom and worked at a facility who was 'managed' by a guy called...……….let's see......Let's call him 'Dick' aka = Mr CYTT. Small facility with less than 50 people total between day / night shifts. 'Dick' never thought to speak to anyone on the floor unless it was about him.
One day I walked in with a magazine (The complete book of SS Chevelle's) I just received which had 2 photos of the car I had restored. I was proudly showing that to my foreman just before my shift started and 'Dick' walked in, saw that we were engaged in meaningful two-way conversation. He asks " What are y'all looking at? - I showed him the magazine open to the half page picture of my car. He paused for a moment, "nice car". I said thanks...……...as he handed it back. I gave it back to him and said - 'look at the paragraph under the picture' He read it...…..paused again. "Oh, you took that picture?" I said 'Yes - from a cell phone...…………." I waited....nothing from him. I said 'That's also my car, the one I recently restored' I then turned the page to the engine compartment pic, said "that's me too'...…….
Nothing from him. Then I say "This is not just an enthusiast magazine like Hot Rod or Car Craft. It is the bible of these cars, cars in here are used as examples of correctness and workmanship"
Nothing...……………………..finally he says " You know, back in high school, I had a Chevy pickup with a 454 in it" and it just keeps going…………………………….
