Yup. Junk. They will stovepipe. It's common.

No I meant exactly what I said. Whether this was a random act or well planned in advance , you are mentally not well to think this is a good solution to your problems . Having said that in my opinion that is NOT an excuse for their actions . It is NOT a reason they shouldn't be held accountable to the full extent of the law .

Never ever ever would you assume or plan for some jackhole stepping on the train, tossing a smoke grenade and them lighting things up with a pistol.
What about "noticing" him outside the subway.

For example through some of his social media posts?

Because from what I am hearing, he posted some fairly inflammable remarks there about some things.

If someone was monitoring social media and looking for persons who could do harm to society - or in particular the New York community - it's possible in theory someone could have flagged this person as a potential threat to society.

Not mine. Have you owned one?

If you don't control the pistol's recoil you may get a FTE but that's on the shooter.

Completely baffled on this claim that Glocks are junk. I'm not a fan of the spongy trigger but they are absolutely one of the most reliable pistols out there.

A limp wrist can stovepipe any gun.

I would say poorly planned. He did not kill anyone, and the bombs did not detonate, if indeed they were bombs. A well planned operation would result in a lot of death. He just traumatized a lot of people, and injured several.

Hopefully they will catch him and he will resist enough to see what a well planned operation looks like.

I just wonder what did he really want to accomplish? Terrorism is the obvious answer, but to what end? Did he want to draw attention to some cause? Whatever it is, I hope the press never mentions his goal. Let him fade into the news back pages and fall out of the collective attention.

According to what I’ve seen, most of what he had was fireworks. I cannot imagine bringing all the random crap he brought but, then again, I’m not nuts.

I think the problem with that is that there's probably 10,000 or 100,000 or even 1,000,000 nutters posting inflammatory remarks on the internet for every one nutter that actually follows through. I'm not sure that you can realistically monitor every nutter. And some of the posts say that this guy bought/rented stuff in Philly, so there's the other problem, was he expected to go postal in Philly or NYC or somewhere else. And if it NYC, where, it's a big place.

I think the FBI and LE does monitor folks on the Internet, but they probably have to pick and choose the folks that seem the most likely to be a problem, and I'm sure they are really only looking at the tip of the crazy iceberg.

Right, he tossed a smoke grenade in the train. The press to make things as exciting as possible will say that he had explosives which would be terrifying, but I think the smoke grenades, or even fireworks would qualify as "explosives." My guess is that he had more smoke grenades, but not bombs. But that's just my WAG.

Let me walk back my comments as to any offense that I may have caused you Glock guys. I don't want to offend. I do stand by my own opinion of not very reliable, but I realize that you use what works for you.

What I'll say is that yes, I shot Glocks for about 25 years until I used one of mine in a let's just say "less than ideal" non-laboratory environment. It was enough for me to dump the Glocks. I'll just leave it at that. I do recommend a shoot and evade type of class if you can find one. Put your defense package under some real stress and you find out stuff, like who is a better shot under extreme duress.

My current favs are Browning 9 and a SW99 40 cal. I value accuracy and reliability.

Don't know if this is relevant but the subway line and areas served have a high Asian and Hispanic population.

His van was found a block from my wife's office so the ladies are nervous since they all take public transportation.

Frank's days are numbered. He'll either shoot himself when confronted by the law, be found dead, as often happens with this type of cowardice.

The FBI had been monitoring the suspect since 2019 due to his Black Nationalist rhetoric he had been posting on YouTube and other internet sites. He had been ranting about the mayor and other high profile persons lately.

Why no cameras were working or the lack of Metro Police in the station is appalling, especially since Mayor Adams is an ex-Metro Policeman.

Totally agree. Poorly planned because he's a half wit. But he sure planned to mean harm.

And I say half wit or he wouldn't have been found sauntering down a Manhattan street.

He was caught/turned in by a private citizen after being spotted at a McDonalds - not law enforcement.

From recent news reports it sounds like he actually called the tipline and turned himself
in. Probably is so delusional he thinks he can collect the reward money.
