I'd never seen the Futura lowering trailer until today. This is pretty clever!

Do you have to be able to afford a GT2RS to afford this trailer?

I good friend and client imported a ton of these to our area. They are amazing trailers. I tried to buy one a month ago, but he does not have stock anymore sadly.
We see a couple cars a month dropped off on one at the shop. Cool trailers.

There is one on Rennlist for sale, about 12k, IIRC and was still there last week. I like it a lot. Just need to get a track car!

Back in 2005, I drove to Texas and bought a air bag trailer, it was very cool and clearly the best way to go. We were going to carry them and Shocker hitches, my former business partner planned on redesigning and improving on it, but after his wife had a And you're awesome everything went to the crapper. The trailer I brought back from Texas is still in town somewhere.

They don't have an axle going across, I guess. What I like is that there is no decking with ramps, which really jacks up your back. Definitely on my list of toys to buy when I go back to serious track driving.

A great price for a GT2RS!
And I assume you get to keep the trailer too. |

Why the complex system? Why not cheap proven out air springs?

They are cool. I have 2 friends with them and they both say they would not buy again. Both have had problems with the tilt mechanism and parts support from Down under (New Zealand based) for these has been poor.
There is a USA mfgr making a similar tilt bed trailer now called Timpte. Maybe worth a look instead if you are in the market.

There's a company called Meridian that makes security bollards - they also make a trailer for transporting their bollards that raises and lowers the whole deck hydraulically using a four-bar linkage. It's not big enough for a car (though it's rated for about 10k lb. load), but I wonder if there is a similar trailer out there that will fit a car.

Aluma trailers also make a tilt trailer similar to Timpte. Both Timpte and Aluma mechanisms been to be less complex than Futura and the Air-bag type decks. It uses a hydrolic piston under the deck to tilt 3/4 of the deck. Not as slick as the Futura trailers, but still effective.
https://www.alumaklm.com/utility/tandem-axle/8200-tilt-tandem-utility-trailers ![]() I have a non-tilt full deck Aluma trailer and absolutely love it! I have a front stone guard as well as a tire rack that is not as tall as most tire racks. Yeah, it is a pain to fuss with the ramps when loading / unloading, but since I bought it used for $6k, before trailer prices skyrocketed, I'm ok with the ramps... Here's my setup..

Interesting. A good while back, mid-90's I had my pro-street sportster at a big bike show / ho-down at VIR, south of Richmond. At the time my build was different than what was going on then and I received a lot of attention for my work, as well as winning the class. Subsequently, I was approached by several 'business' guys who wanted to use my bike with their _____________ (fill in the blank) product for promotion.
One guy in particular had just developed a proto-type motorcycle trailer with a very similar concept. Essentially the bed of the trailer would lay down almost flat so bikes with really low ground clearance could be loaded with no hassles or scraping. He had everything lined-up and was ready to start manufacturing and wanted to use my bike on the cover of his brochure as well as for TV commercial to be aired on cable sports channels. So here we are, he's excited, I'm excited, I see $$ signs for this and ask: "how do you see compensating me for this? 'X' amount for your brochure, 'Y' amount for the commercial, or per unit sold, etc?" The grin immediately disappears from his face, he looks at me with a confusion. "Oh, I'm not paying you, there's no money for you, you get have your bike with my trailer". I asked: "This thing of yours.............it's a business right? You plan to be successful and make a profit right? You see , I've already built this all by myself, spent my own money and time, been in EasyRider's and In-The-Wind mag. Why would I allow you to use my bike when there's no 'juice'?" End of conversation.....................
