Rainbow leather flips. Haven't worn a shoe in two years.

Before they were called "thongs," I remember when they were called "zorries." At least in the area I lived at the time - San Joaquin Valley, CA.

Old school Japanese terminology. In Hawaii, we just call them slippahs.

Yup. My 100% Japanese family called them "Zohts" (pronounced like "z-oh-ts". Because Zories didn't sound funny enough I guess.

Of course I was such a smart ass kid, I called them Jap Flaps. I'm still a smart ass and I still call them that.

Oh no, no traditional crocs for me. My youngest has been wearing them since he was about 3 and he's always have a pair, even today. My wife now started to wear them. My sister and her people, from doc to nurses, at the hospital all swears by them. I don't see the attraction? Any foot health benefit? I put on my kids and its feels like any other shoe to me.
OK got it.

Crocs have always felt like they had more cushion than other shoes I have worn. That's about it.

I had a bout of PF a few years ago and have to say wearing my Crocs were a Godsend!

I haven't bought any new ones in quite a while though. I still have plenty of life left in what I already own. The skechers slip ons with memory foam are what I mostly wear now. Flip flops around the house - while not working on stuff....

Yeah and if you did call them "zoh-dies" (correct pronunciation) I'm pretty sure she would have died from surprise.

The other option is to wear shoes, like an adult.

Everyone who wears flip flops also has heel calluses to match.

Heck yeah - Chacos are my golf shoes! (we're a little casual here). I'd probably even do a 5k in them, if I actually ran. They're heavy but worth it.

Closest I ever got was some of those Adidas-style swimmer flipflops. I just cannot do the toe-thong torture...

I remember in 1968 going into the store in Waipahu, Hawaii called Arakawas. It was a great store that sold everything from fine china, to firecrackers and lawn mowers and garden supplies, and clothing. They had a huge bin of flip flops for 12 cents a pair. The only difference was what color or size you wanted. They only lasted a few months on average before the center strap for your toes pulled out. It was not a big expense to get more.

I can remember many times my mom giving me a quarter and I rode my bike over there bought my new flip flops, and a bunch of candy.
