Good on you, Bob, and blessings on your family.
Nice of you to say. Thank you.

I think any one of us would help a fellow member out if able. Even in the smallest way.

Guys - thank you to everyone for your efforts, ideas, and support on this.

It is a very strange world and even stranger how it works sometimes…

Juneau Drug Co. is no longer right at our mooring (it has been relocated downtown and unfortunately the walker they had was was hospital style with only 2 wheels and no seat), it cost me a 2.2 km walk (round trip) to learn this.

I called a cab and we went to the Fred Meyer on the Glacier Highway and I got one of the 2 walkers that my wife had them confirm that they had when she called yesterday. Aisle 32, right where they said it would be. 4 minutes, in and out.

We had the cab drop us off downtown, he suggested in front of the Red Dog Saloon. I literally assembled the walker on the sidewalk in front of the bar. Dad suggestd we go in for a beer so we did.

We sat there at our table enjoying the music and the guy at the table next to us looked strangely familiar. Then his wife came up and grabbed by dad by the face and said - is that you, Bill?

These are some old friends I haven’t seen in 21 years and dad hadn’t seen in about 18 years. They are on the same boat as us.

So yes, we got the walker, it made our lives far, far better. Dad struggled to walk 100 feet before and he just walked 1.1 kms back from downtown with ease.

Once again - thanks to the pelican gang for pitching in to help out. You guys are ‘the best’…

That's fantastic! Thanks for the update.

Between your post, and Flatbutt's graduation photo in the pics thread, this has been a great week.

Greener in Alaska than it is in Cowtown!
Love it when a plan comes together.
Have a great trip!

I love happy endings. May the entire trip go as well.
