While it's not my dream car, I do recognize that 1) it's special and 2) it's in amazing condition.

If you sell it, the odds of you ever getting or being able to get another like it at a reasonable price are pretty low. If you don't need to sell it, or you have doubts about selling it, I'd not sell it.

I don't regret selling my old '88 targa, because it was the right thing to do for my situation at the time. But I REALLY wish I'd been in a different situation and still had it.

Based on your posts, I think you should keep it.

It sounds like you have too much of an emotional attachment to the Prelude to sell it right now.

So I recon hang on to it for the time being. Then maybe, just maybe, sell it in the future if you get a crazy good offer that you just can't say no too.

Will it fit on the top rung of the lift so it can be 'out of the way' and not have to be moved if it's not being driven?

I reserve the lift for the 911's because they sleep the longest here in MI.

The Prelude can be used in any weather...but I try to avoid the salt.

So will the SI be your 'winter' car or the Prelude?

That's the way I'm leaning now...I'll think on it for a couple days.

Right now...I'm saying the SI. Keeping it washed...it should be good for 5-8 years before the rust starts. If I drive the Prelude in the winter...a year or two later, it will show rust.

Exactly...being the original owner, prob no other used car would compare.
I think the msrp on it in 98 was $23.5K.
Sort of pricey for that year in time.

First of all, your attention to detail with your cars is fantastic and I admire it greatly. Your Prelude reflects that ethos.

Me? While I regret selling a car or two, I have not regretted selling a car I do not use very often...motorcycles as well. Money was not the issue since, while I made more than I paid for the cars when I sold them, I knew they were going up in value but sold them at the then market price: My 356 and the low mileage Mercedes 560SL convertible for example. If I don't drive them I hate to see the sit. But, and this is me, I don't collect anything.

IMHO, let it go, enjoy the memories and move to the next car you are going to make shine.

^^^ Yes, the usage goes down every year...but the attachment to it goes up at the same time.
The money will not influence my decision...unless I get a crazy offer.
In today's economy $10K could be lost in a few weeks while in the bank.

The great thing, Steve, is you get to make the call on a really neat car that is about as well sorted as they come. I gave you my opinion only, not what you should do since clearly you have this wired.

There is no wrong answer...

Well done.

^^^ Thanks Seahawk
The car is not that old (24yrs.) compared to other vintage cars....but it's unusual to find one that hasn't been rodded out or not taken care of. Most of the original buyers were young men.
I bought it new when I was 45 years old. So it's nice to see one in good condition.

I feel the exact same way with my 1996 LC, which was bought new by a USMC LtCol friend of mine who sold it to me three years ago when he moved to Florida.

It is as stock and unmolested as an Oak Tree.

Now, this is where I am going to contradict myself like you read about: I will never sell the LC regardless of usage, it means that much to me: My friendship and love for Vic, the original owner, the vibe I get owning it, and the simple joy it gives me.

So, Steve, if you sell the Prelude I am coming after you, dumbest thing you'll ever do
