Still waiting for our Bronco

First ordered in 2019, Badlands with a 2.7 EcoBoost engine, 10 speed auto trans.
Have started to see more of them around here in San Diego, talked to our sales rep. and he told us that we haven't been assigned a VIN number we have been getting Bronco trinkets from Ford every couple of months but still nothing.
anyone else waiting for theirs?

One of our local PCA members had his custom ordered GT3 on the way, and it was on the boat that sank. Porsche is building him the same spec car again, but lots of delays.

Is it the 2.7 that is going boom and now being investigated by whomever investigates this sort of thing? It may work in your favor to have it delayed. I see tons of them around here.

I had one on order and then I saw all the problems with the rollout and I also realized that IFS suspension wouldn’t suit my needs, so I got a Gladiator. I’m happy so far but I do like the two door Bronco looks wise.

My niece and her husband bought a new bronco within the last year. (her dad is a Ford dealer GM)

They had a few people pushing them to sell because of the amounts people were paying above MSRP. Before they even made a payment, they sold it well above MSRP. She held her cards close and wouldn't say how much higher but I suspect over 10k given the way she was talking.

3 years and no vin assigned? Enjoy those trinkets. Enjoy your new ride when in comes in.

When I heard dealers in Los Angeles were offering premium availability for $90k+ to put people to the front of the line it clearly spelled it out why folks werent getting vins assigned timely.

I just checked a few:
A 2022 Wildtrak for $85k in Seattle.
A 2020 Wildtrak in Buena Park for $80k.
Another 2022 Wildtrak with 2.7 and 4wd in San Diego for $79k used with 5k miles.

Amazing what the Ford Ranger platform can fetch through marketing?

Range Rover did this with the Evoque but it was still a Ford Edge and doubled the price.

I recall when the PT Cruiser Woody first came out they were getting premium gotta have it now pricing of $45k and the wait was 4-6 months.

I'm on a FB page for Rivian EV trucks. Boy what a cluster that is. Some are reselling them for over $100k.

One guy bought one from a Porsche dealer but has been waiting almost a month for Rivian to "changeover" ownership from the original owner to him. Seems you can't program the truck and use certain options until they update everything and it has to go through your "associate". People who are waiting see no problem in these guys being pushed to the back of the line since Rivian isn't making a profit on the resale.

Not to mention that people are getting their new vehicles missing spare tires, floor mats, trim pieces, etc. since so much is on backorder they're using them to complete other trucks.

We ordered the 2 door with a hard removal roof, dealer says we can get a 4 door with a soft roof sooner.
I haven't seen any hard tops around here, been hearing that they (Ford ) have been having trouble with the manufacturing process

I have seen a few Broncos driving around here.

Before I even took delivery of my Land Cruiser the local Toyota dealership (i ordered it straight from Toyota) was trying to buy it off me for $15K more than I was paying. So that practice is real and crazy.

I'm wondering if those driving around in the Bronco Sport are wishing they had held out for the full size. No comparison in my opinion, the full size looks 1,000 times better.

Did the dealer give you a price on it or markup from MSRP when you ordered it?

No markup yet but I'm thinking that will change, hoping not, but we will see once they get a VIN number to us

I have seen a few around here. The what I think must be the base model is not very attractive, pretty anemic. The "offroad" looking ones look purpose built and fantastic.

Agreed. The base models I see around here look like the old Scion XB, or Nissan Cube. Ride very low, obviously not intended for any off road duty. Are they even FWD?

The more decked out ones look good. I have no idea the model variations or any of that, and really don't care, but they at least "look the part". Maybe that's as deep as that goes, though.

Decent chance you are both seeing the Bronco Sport, which is a slightly smaller model and does not look anything like an offroader as the actual Bronco does.

The sport is in much greater supply as well.

I like the little pickup better, the really little one that has a ridiculously low base price.
