Ever get Nikasil replated?
As mentioned in my other thread, a hamfisted idiot didn’t install the piston rings correctly on my son’s KX85 dirt bike on a previous overhaul. The cylinder has 2 deep gouges in it. I’m quite surprised it ran and made decent power like this.
![]() It appears that Moose and Cylinder Works replacement cylinders are all back ordered. I may be able to get a Kawasaki one for $700 (I will find out tomorrow). The other options are a steel liner from LA Sleeve or having mine welded up and replated locally. I’m going to drop by the local guy with the cylinder tomorrow to get a price and time frame. https://www.skylarkcylinders.com/ Have any of you ever fixed nikasil cylinders before?
