Hell yeah, she was busy! Look at the dysfunction in the family she had to deal with!

Years ago, we named our Jon boat in her honor. Unsinkable.

RIP Queen E.

A little known fact, on V-day she put on a hat that half covered her face and went dancing in the streets of London with the other 10's of thousands celebrating winning the war.

Job well done. Rest In Peace, your Majesty.

What a great woman, the world is a little less than after today and I fear people of her caliber are leaving faster than they will be replaced to the detriment of us all.

That sounds legit and she was still serving at the time.

Anyone verify last words?

Is now a good time to break off the monarchy?

Why, they don't cost you anything?

Don't doubt it. In the days of print, I read an article of her WW II service. There was a picture of her with dirty hands and a rag cleaning a wrench. Of her time in the service, she did not like the photo ops but seemed to understand that they were good for morale. The article explained that her hands are hidden in many of the wartime pictures because she did not think the British wanted to see one of their princesses with cuts on her hands. She covered half her head, but was not going to be denied the celebration.

An amazing woman. I was susprised that she was Britain's longest reigning, thinking it was Victoria. Born into her role, she fulfilled it well with honor.

This was on one of the BMX forums that I am on.

[QUOT;11792683]Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.

I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.

I loved her humor. Every time she spoke casually I was waiting for one of her off-the-cuff comments.

Here's her line on Texans 30 years ago:

I never understood that phrase, that someone passes. She died! Kicked the bucket, croaked and breather her last breath. It will happen to every living thing.

She was a classy lady, and certainly had a long and privileged life. I wonder if she ever had to cook her own food, clean the house, scrub a toilet or go shopping.

When one dies, one passes from this life to the next. (if you believe in that stuff)

You don't understand when someone has passed but 'kick the bucket' makes sense???
I can't tell you how many times I have kicked a bucket here and there but it must be dozens of times at least... but I'm still alive.

I don't think we benefit in any way for the $60,000,000 it costs us annually.

Not too mention what it costs us for security etc. when they visit.

RIP

Personally, I like "S*** the bed".

The old timers used to say the person has "gone over".

They are talking about a stat holiday here for the final day of her funeral.
So we have to pay people for a day off?!!! F##k that!!

Does the king get his picture on the money now? Imagine being that rich.
