A little known fact, on V-day she put on a hat that half covered her face and went dancing in the streets of London with the other 10's of thousands celebrating winning the war.

What a great woman, the world is a little less than after today and I fear people of her caliber are leaving faster than they will be replaced to the detriment of us all.

That sounds legit and she was still serving at the time.

Don't doubt it. In the days of print, I read an article of her WW II service. There was a picture of her with dirty hands and a rag cleaning a wrench. Of her time in the service, she did not like the photo ops but seemed to understand that they were good for morale. The article explained that her hands are hidden in many of the wartime pictures because she did not think the British wanted to see one of their princesses with cuts on her hands. She covered half her head, but was not going to be denied the celebration.

An amazing woman. I was susprised that she was Britain's longest reigning, thinking it was Victoria. Born into her role, she fulfilled it well with honor.
