I miss the old History channel with real history on it.
Now it is all mostly fake crap and made up drama. I deleted it from my list of favorite channels.

I haven't had satellite/cable in many years, but always enjoyed the HC way back when. One of my local OTA stations added "Story Television" on one of their alternate sub-channels several months back.... the "story" part is short for history .... the good stuff.
Well .... they do show the "It must be Aliens" dude some .... but it's worth watching most of the time ![]() |

I think the last history channel thing I watched was something like "monster ships" or something, (years ago, I haven't had cable tv in ages) and it was so frigging irritating how they would rehash the narrative that had already aired after returning from (numerous) commercial breaks. I mean, the subject was interesting to me, but the content provided would have fit into a 15 minute youtube video; didn't have enough for the full hour so it was just strrrrrrreeeettccccchhhhhhed out to sell more soap.

The "Military History Channel" is actually pretty good. Of course, I now have to pay an extra $5 for it...

The History Channel was one of my favorites. Still better than Discover, come on 62 separate shark shows?

C'mon guys. The "Count" usually has old cars. Isn't that history?
Stopped watching HC a while ago, mainly due to content, incessant reruns and the commercial load. I believe Ted Turner to be correct in his assessment.

Get most of the historical stuff from YouTube now. Can't take the constant, effin' rehashing of the topic throughout the program.
"the Andes Mountains was the site of one of the most....." *insert commercial*..."the site of one the most significant historical events is thee Andes Mountains...." *insert commercial*......"have you ever wondered why this historically significant event occurred in the Andes Mountains?"..... Just STOP. It's like the content is made exclusively for the senile or younger people with the memory of a tadpole.

I bailed out and gave up on it. Same thing for Rockford Files, they show a clip of what is coming up just to ruin the plot. I don't get that at all.
