I had a Trailex 8045. I was told by Trailex that the bolts should never need retightening. I only had it for 2 years then progressed in the hobby and went to a trimmed out "traditional" enclosed trailer. Sold the Trailex for pretty close to what I bought it for brand new.

Last time I rented one, 15+ years ago, I noticed they use a 15 1/2 inch wheel. This was so people would not steal the wheel/tires.

This one is local, $1500, but looks a little rough.

Also, odd sized tires cost a lot more.

I would think you could get a 15 inch wheel to fit. But with them weighing 2000 pounds it’s got to be one hell of a tire.

I think that my steel and wood plank trailer weighs in at about 2K lbs.(?) It has twin 3500 lb. axles. I figure that I can put about 5k lbs. on it safely but I prefer to haul much lighter vehicles with it.

I would be at 4800 lbs with trailer (2000) and car (2800) alone. Add 100+ or so for track gear and I'm at 5000 lbs.

Which reminds me, I need to look at my truck for the tow rating. 2014 F150 Lariet, SuperCrew with tow pkg. Edit, looks like 8000.

Did you ever get in touch with the owner Byron?

I'm in the market for one of these Trailex trailers.

I've been trying, even mailed him a letter, drive by almost weekly, because of the area around his place, don't want to go up to the door, but have left notes on his mailbox.

While others have pointed out the negatives for this style trailer, there is a positive as well. It makes it easier to do oil changes and some maintenance.

I never did buy a trailer. This year I went to five track days and rented a U-Haul and probably have spent about $800-$900. I would’ve spent that much on a storage space to keep it.

But… I was at the track last weekend and found an open steel trailer that sells for about $3200. I could always add steel or wood decking later to the center.
