Mint and Ubuntu sound like they are user friendly and run media/typing/CAD/etc software but I'm still learning about the Linux environment. https://itsfoss.com/linux-mint-vs-ubuntu/
Read about SystemD being a Linux bloatware issue but don't know that much about it. There seems to be a dozen versions without it. On the other hand it is supposed to fix a lot of 'cross-platform' issues within Linux and crashes. It looks like the new SteamDeck is Linux based but proprietary. I tried to buy a game from GOG once but the c/c company blocked it. Apparently Poland is on the 'terrorist watchlist' wtf lol.

A couple things I like about Mint are, updates are optional, no antivirus needed and install is very fast and free. You really can run it from a flash drive forever if you want and never install.
