What Time Is It? 9:11!

I don’t know if anyone else does this?

I always notice when a digital clock - e.g. my phone - says it is 9:11, 9:14, or 9:28. Those times register in my consciousness, in a way that, say, 8:53 does not.

3:56 doesn’t come up on my phone much - I’m either sleeping or hard at work.

I've been saying that 9:11 is my favorite time of day since the '80s. After 9/11 that seemed a little weird to say. Now, of course, 9:12 is my favorite time.

356 all day long. I notice every time those 3 digits come up on a receipt, etc. Years ago I used to get a 6" Subway meatball sub, a bag of chips, and a drink and it came to $3.56.

Oh yes, I’ll even keep staring at the clock if it’s 9:10 to see 9:11. We all aren’t quite right in the head or we are the same ones!

Back in 1974 when I ordered my 74 914 2.0 I had a watch that I set the alarm to chime at 9:14 AM every day. That was to remind me to call the dealership and ask if my car was in yet. The lying bastages always said it would be in tomorrow. For 6 months I called them every work day.

Finally on (9-13-74) Friday, Sept 13th it was in and I even thought a few seconds about waiting for 9-14-74 to go take delivery, but that was a Saturday, and I wanted my new toy. It was close to noon when they handed me my car keys. I had already made 5 payments on the loan, as I drove off with a huge smile on face. I brought it back in, Monday morning at 8:00 AM with 601 miles for the first scheduled service of an oil change, transmission fluid change, and valve adjustment.

I see it all the time. In fact, somewhere, I have screenshots off my phone of a lot of the Porsche numbers that I made when I had a desk job

(I also can't not see muscle car numbers - 454, 350, 442.....you know the ones; and French car ID's like 504,304. It's a problem.)

(I found all those old screenshots. These are from 2016, and what's interesting to me is that one of the 907 shots also contains a message from the OP of this thread!)

I'm a numbers guy. I notice all sorts of numbers. THere are lots of Porsche numbers, and while only a few trigger in my head, there's a bunch.

https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/437830-internal-model-designations.html

don't forget 930, 931, 934, 935, 550, 718, 914, 904, 906, 907, ..., 917, etc...

And lots of old American car motor sizes 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 400, 402, 403, 427, etc.... Old phone numbers, addresses, etc....

Glad I’m not the only one. I mentioned this to my sister once and ove course without the context, she went right to 9/11.

It’s why I’ve never got the clock in the 911 fixed. It’s always 9:11.

I guess it registers based on whatever you fancy... my daughters call out 5:53 because of some K-pop song.
