Brenda and Crofty are so different. Like what Brenda adds but, she is monotone like a Jazz radio DJ at midnight, no voice inflection and no pause between thoughts. I'd rather her than Danica. I like what she adds to the coverage but hard to understand. Her accent and delivery is more difficult to understand than Paul diResta.
Good that Alonso celebrated and the 10 second penalty was deleted. Toto admitted the upcoming upgraded Merc may look like a an RB and even mentioned that Horner could put a sticker on it. lol |

I accidentally watched some of the w.e on regular channels and heard Crofty shouting again, which reminded me to immediately switch to F1 TV instead. I can't stand that shouty twat. Too bad 'cause I like Chandok's insight but the F1Tv crew is alright. Not sure how this happened but kind of a boring race despite ALO in front and LEC/VER outback, yawn... Ditto on Jos Verstappen's face in parc fermé, Dude, your son will win the WC easily, don't be an ass to Perez and smile!
Overall great motorsport week end, I'd rate WEC sebring, then IMSA Sebring, then WRC mexico, F1 last in terms of entertainment! Glad ALO got his podium back, that trophy got passed around like.... well... |

As for Hammy throwing shade. Nothing new. If he wins it is as a team. If he doesn't the blame has to be directed at someone, cause it most certainly is not his fault. How is this not shade at Russel? From the linked article: I chose one way and he chose another. “More often than not, the way he went is the wrong one. But it just happened to work. Interpretation: I'm the king and George can't find his way around the track. During the race the team were telling Russel to let Hammy pass. Russel just picked up his pace and left Hammy in the dust. He needs to retire |
Someone tell me what shade is.

Conspiracy from the pro Hammy Sky Sports announcers.
Hammy made some statement about never having seen a car whiz by so fast. Hammy's comment didn't seem to have an underlying meaning but... Kravitz responded: "What Lewis is saying is he had never seen someone gain quite so much speed by opening the DRS. "He doesn't understand how this is possible. "There is lots of technical intrigue on Formula 1, lots of people will be looking at the Red Bull and saying how are they able to gain nearly 20 miles an hour advantage on that straight than anyone else? "Are they doing something with that rear wing that not only stalls out the rear wing but stalls out the floor and other aerodynamics around the car? "So, that will be I am sure the latest round of technical intrigue in Formula 1 when we get to the next round in Australia." https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12838744/ted-kravitz-lewis-hamilton-right-about-red-bull-pace-red-bull-ultimately-back-max-verstappen |

a driver's heartbeat monitor. It was up over 170 and her comment was how hard the drivers work and that she tries to explain to her friends that when she was racing, she ran a marathon every week. Uh huh. Marathon, sitting down. Moving only hands and feet a little. Marathon. Very little braking, almost no turning, a fraction of the G forces from F1, marathon. GMAFB A more logical explanation would be that the driver had a HB of 170 because he was out of shape or hung over. |
Red...it's called pressure. They've put heart monitors on pool players during major professional tournaments. Hardly any great physical efforts being made. Tons of mental pressure though, and the heartbeat counts show it. 130 to 150 happens during critical shots.

The overwhelming thing about a stock car is the heat. The drivers are all but frozen in position. The stock cars have power steering but not power brakes. I can say this, driving a laydown enduro kart is not that physical. It's rough, very rough and you can't see very well. Driving a sprint kart is about like riding motocross. It takes all you have. But, heart rates are up in enduro racing even though the strength isn't needed other than being able to drive the thing an hour (they have shortened the races to 45 minutes since I ran). I'm comparing what takes strength to what takes a lot of mental work. AFA heart rate goes, stress can do it as well as physical effort. You have to drive one of those stock cars to see what it's like. Extremely confining and you can't see out of the thing beyond the dash or over the door opening. Can't really look too sideways either with that head restraint. Yet they seem to know just where the front, side and back are in relation to others. Drivers are under a lot of pressure and there has to be an element of fear in stock car racing as they seem to run into things and each other a lot. IDT anyone wants a DNF and the expense of a wadded up race car. You can be damn sure of one thing, they all want to get to the checkers first. They take risks that I would likely not take. Even if I was that good. |
Red,
Adrenaline will do that. When I played chess, my heart rate would double! Best Les |
of the people talking on TV about the races
I think nico rosberg is by far the best ever and if he wants the job let all the rest go |
I have to agree about Nico , he does a good job describing whatever the topic without being annoying . Plus I can understand him . I also like Karun , he's knowledgeable and level headed . Gets his point across and I can understand him .
|
Yea, Nico has been there, done that. He is easy to understand.
I was thinking about how he hit the jackpot on the lottery of life. He was born rich, good looking and very talented. He is a very good announcer. |
Latest rumour I saw a video on was when Lewis retires Lando will go to Ferrari as LeClerc will leave to go to Mercedes….interesting, not sure where they get this stuff.

Max showing his true colors. Hope he has failures all year and Checo takes the championship.

Agreed. Max has always been all about himself, and only himself. He doesn't even attempt to hide it. Team player he is not. Ayrton had a similar mindset (when he was racing).
|
On a different note, until (and if) the rest of the teams can figure out and mimic how Redbull manages to dump so much more drag than the others when their DRS is active, none of them have any chance at race wins unless both of the Redbulls somehow fail to finish. There is currently no answer to their massive speed advantage on the straights.
Personally, I am not a fan of DRS. Never have been. It's so contrived and yet has such a predictable impact on most races. Get rid of it. |

I do not like wings
and also do not like the ban on moving wings esp in the fiddy flex BS that red bull and others are claimed to do if the cars have wings let them move as needed or at least flex in a controlled way/rate or ban them totally inc ducts and side pod rads ground effects too and return to drafting packs for better races and less parades |

I'm ok with Max. However, I do not understand him picking up Kyvat's ex and being step daddy to the kid. That's just a bit much at that age, and with the ex being who he is it is just gross.

That didn't take long , big shakeup at McLaren .

Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the McLaren problems. I've started to really dislike Zak and the whole Piastri shenanigans (plus no Ricciardo)... Not like Alpine is doing *Fantastic* but better than papayas.
Apparently Mercedes are the ones who "told" on Aston's pitstop to the stewards ! Nice... Love all the F1 backstabbing ! |

So glad Fred had his 10 seconds reinstated. I couldn't agree more on your McLaren take. Someone here said Zak is looking more and more like a carpet salesman all the time. After watching DtoS and the bs with Alpine and Piastri I couldn't be happier. (Not only are the teams ratting other teams out, it seems like the drivers in some of the top teams aren't happy at all with each other and management - two races in! This looks like it might be the year of interteam fireworks. I wonder what the circus is going to look like by the time we get to Monaco? Walls between drivers in the pits?) |

Rules are rules, follow the rules! It was a pretty minor infraction. FIA need to be real clear, 100% no touching the vehicle while serving the penalty. And add the new penalty withing a few minutes, not after the race! |

Kudos to toto for biting the sidepod bullet and joking about putting red bull stickers on the car. |

Wow, I miss those N.A engines. Valencia not so much, that's where Webber went flying once, right?
Too many street circuits of late. |
