Sky Sports needs to fire the current audio crew, and find new experienced employees. During FP1 and FP2 two weeks ago there was not one sound but the announcers. The cars were all silent. They regularly have one or two mics turned way down, or maybe they set them all to "Crofty" screaming levels and no one else can yell for the entire race. They also need to teach the announcers NOT to all talk at once! They constantly have two or more people yammering on and ignoring the other announcers, and it comes out as gibberish, and then they all laugh at some inside joke that is never explained.

Brenda and Crofty are so different. Like what Brenda adds but, she is monotone like a Jazz radio DJ at midnight, no voice inflection and no pause between thoughts. I'd rather her than Danica. I like what she adds to the coverage but hard to understand. Her accent and delivery is more difficult to understand than Paul diResta.

Good that Alonso celebrated and the 10 second penalty was deleted.

Yea, if she really wants to continue as an announcer, she needs to take some inflection and speaking seminars and learn to enunciate her words more.

I accidentally watched some of the w.e on regular channels and heard Crofty shouting again, which reminded me to immediately switch to F1 TV instead. I can't stand that shouty twat. Too bad 'cause I like Chandok's insight but the F1Tv crew is alright. Not sure how this happened but kind of a boring race despite ALO in front and LEC/VER outback, yawn... Ditto on Jos Verstappen's face in parc fermé, Dude, your son will win the WC easily, don't be an ass to Perez and smile!

Overall great motorsport week end, I'd rate WEC sebring, then IMSA Sebring, then WRC mexico, F1 last in terms of entertainment! Glad ALO got his podium back, that trophy got passed around like.... well...

The thing that cracks me up about Hammy's personal assistant (supposed physio) is that everyone knows her name. Yet all other drivers have a guy or gal and they are unnamed people. I never understood why she seems to do 100 times more work for Hammy than the others do for their drivers. Sort of looked like he was a primadonna, oh wait...

As for Hammy throwing shade. Nothing new. If he wins it is as a team. If he doesn't the blame has to be directed at someone, cause it most certainly is not his fault.

Red...it's called pressure. They've put heart monitors on pool players during major professional tournaments. Hardly any great physical efforts being made. Tons of mental pressure though, and the heartbeat counts show it. 130 to 150 happens during critical shots.

I assume she was talking about Indy Car where most of what she says is true. And no power steering. When Danica went to NASCAR I think she was in good physical condition and stayed that way. I'm not sure training was a thing before Jimmy Johnson.

The overwhelming thing about a stock car is the heat. The drivers are all but frozen in position. The stock cars have power steering but not power brakes. I can say this, driving a laydown enduro kart is not that physical. It's rough, very rough and you can't see very well. Driving a sprint kart is about like riding motocross. It takes all you have.

But, heart rates are up in enduro racing even though the strength isn't needed other than being able to drive the thing an hour (they have shortened the races to 45 minutes since I ran).

I'm comparing what takes strength to what takes a lot of mental work. AFA heart rate goes, stress can do it as well as physical effort. You have to drive one of those stock cars to see what it's like. Extremely confining and you can't see out of the thing beyond the dash or over the door opening. Can't really look too sideways either with that head restraint. Yet they seem to know just where the front, side and back are in relation to others.

Drivers are under a lot of pressure and there has to be an element of fear in stock car racing as they seem to run into things and each other a lot. IDT anyone wants a DNF and the expense of a wadded up race car. You can be damn sure of one thing, they all want to get to the checkers first. They take risks that I would likely not take. Even if I was that good.

Agreed. Max has always been all about himself, and only himself. He doesn't even attempt to hide it. Team player he is not. Ayrton had a similar mindset (when he was racing).

On a different note, until (and if) the rest of the teams can figure out and mimic how Redbull manages to dump so much more drag than the others when their DRS is active, none of them have any chance at race wins unless both of the Redbulls somehow fail to finish. There is currently no answer to their massive speed advantage on the straights.

Personally, I am not a fan of DRS. Never have been. It's so contrived and yet has such a predictable impact on most races. Get rid of it.

This x100. Kudos to Red Bull for taking full advantage of a stupid feature of F1. I especially love how every DRS pass is lauded on broadcast coverage as some sort of achievement.

If there has to be a passing aide, I far prefer Indycar's +50HP push-to-pass. Use whenever and wherever but a maximum number of seconds per race, so use it wisely.

That makes sense, if they got a 10 second penalty to stick to Alonzo, they get 3rd place and more points. It was a really stupid thing for the jack man to do. I saw it happen and wondered if touching the car during the penalty is forbidden, his jack sure looking like it was touching.

Rules are rules, follow the rules! It was a pretty minor infraction. FIA need to be real clear, 100% no touching the vehicle while serving the penalty. And add the new penalty withing a few minutes, not after the race!
