Beginners luck ;)

COTA spoiler

In spite of a whack of troubles and hard luck Jenson managed to out shine Kimi by 10 or eleven cars in the end. I'm sure they enjoyed it. It was a long, long race for what they're used to. Nothing seems to bother Kimi though, not so sure about Jenson.

Guenther looked a bit frightened when introduced.

Well that was ...gruesome....disturbing....completely unnecessary.

yellowperil 03-28-2023 08:18 AM

In fact it was FW 16, car 02. But ...

greglepore 03-28-2023 04:08 PM

Dude, really? Maybe we should go after Chapman for Clarke, or Penske for Donohue, or Ferrari for like 20 people.

red 928 03-28-2023 11:06 PM

suggesting a man can do no wrong
is inviting someone to point out that he can,
for no other reason than respect for honesty.

CurtEgerer 03-29-2023 04:00 AM

So now we've got the proposal for the 'Formula Equal' F1 team consisting of 50% males and 50% females  Team members will be chosen, not by excellence and skill, but gender. To top it off, the new team will be funded by a 'Gulf state' (i.e., Saudi Arabia) where women's rights are a sad joke. But F1 has been an effective partner for the Gulf states' sportswashing efforts over the years and I give Formula Equal 10X the odds of being accepted by FIA and F1 than Cadillac-Andretti.

yellowperil 03-29-2023 09:27 AM

He who has Newey, shall not be bested. Long may he rule.

herr_oberst 03-29-2023 10:01 AM

Let's not forget his Championships in IMSA GTP and IndyCar when he was with March.

2 of each, if my sums are correct.

The guy's a winner.

There were a few years that half the Indy field was March cars.

The March Lola Penske years. Good times.

(And Porsche tried and failed to join the party then, too. History repeats.)

I'm a big Newey fan so I bought the book. Not as good a read as I hoped. I'd much prefer rereading a Steve Matchett book :)

F1 2023

Interesting Qualifying results. Russell beats Hamilton again. P1 is no major surprise.

And Hulk beats his teammate again . How about Albon ? Well done for Williams . Both Aston Martins showing great pace . Hopefully Ferrari has better race pace . Alfa Romeo not so good ☹️ .

GH85Carrera 04-01-2023 08:11 AM

And Mercedes is not a slug after all.

astrochex 04-01-2023 11:29 AM

I will be surprised if the winner is different from the pole sitter.

Perhaps there will be interesting racing for other positions. Four drs zones, really?

herr_oberst 04-01-2023 11:35 AM

Hard for Lew to tell the world how much he suffered to drag that ox cart over the finish line when his teammate goes faster. (Or maybe the 'setup coin toss' worked in George's favor again and Lew would have been on pole if he'd had George's setup...)

Yes but Kmag is ahead in points (1 point). Hulk has none. It might soon change.

Noah930 04-01-2023 09:35 PM

This is ridiculous. Is Masi officiating again?

Calling a red flag in such a delayed fashion. I mean, were there 3 or 4 laps run behind the safety car before the stewards decided to red flag the race?

And then a standing re-start?

Are they trying to give the race back to Max?

Totally unfair first to George (on the delayed red flag), and then to Hamilton (on the standing re-start).

LOL,
it just gets worse from here.

yellowperil 04-02-2023 03:16 AM

Expensive race !! Mostly a red flag smash and crash.

rfuerst911sc 04-02-2023 04:27 AM

That was a strange one . Congrats to Hulk scoring points . What a train wreck finish for Alpine . Ferrari zero points ........ Ouch !

rfuerst911sc 04-02-2023 05:48 AM

Looks like Pierre Gasly will be banned from the next race . Adding insult to injury ☹️.

Not having to go to Baku might be a plus for some of these drivers. BTW no race until Apr 30. , quite a gap in races. I ll have to find a hobby.

Moto GP, WEC Hypercar, IMSA LMDh, Indy, these hobbies should keep you busy ;)

astrochex 04-02-2023 01:01 PM

That was effed up.

Most bummed for Haas and for LeClerc. Sucks that they can’t restart his car since it appeared to be undamaged.

GH85Carrera 04-02-2023 01:38 PM

Most bizarre race finish ever.

Wow.

Captain Ahab Jr 04-02-2023 02:43 PM

Didn't watch the race but is sounds like it was a mess from start to finish

Will be great viewing on Drive to Survive

URY914 04-02-2023 03:54 PM

Why don't they use backpack blowers to clear the track? 6 guys with blowers could clear the track of the gravel much quicker than 15 mean with push brooms. My $.02. ;)

Rtrorkt 04-02-2023 07:04 PM

can you say NASCAR competition yellow?
