The heat really got to the drivers and after the race they only had little glass bottles with water in them? After the race they could barely stand up. How about some ice packs and fans. Should have used one of those DeWalt fans with dry ice in it that they use on the cars. I thought it was sub par response to the problem.

Paul I agree . It seems like there was minimal planning to protect the drivers after the race . They know it's hot and humid so no surprise . And hearing about driver fatigue , vomiting in helmets and blacking out while driving is not a good look for F1 . It will be interesting to see if this particular track gets a different date in the future .

I agree that the teams appeared surprisingly unprepared for the race conditions.

not going to make a big difference. If you have not visited the gulf states, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain then you do not understand the heat and humidity. I landed in Dubai one January to 99 degrees and 120% humidity at 11PM.

You guys enjoying those middle east GPs ? I can't think of ONE I'm looking forward to. It's not that I'm against new tracks or Sheiks in robes, I thought Turkey was awesome (elevation, that triple corner), Singapore was spectacular if nothing else, but I'm finding out I love seeing classic old tracks (Spa, Suzuka, Monza) almost as much as the show itself... Bahrain, saudi, qatar... One is a sea of walls, this one was a sea of turns (in an oven). Can't seem to memorize them or develop much fondness for the features of any of them... I was reading something from a climate scientist who said 35C + 100% humidity is a death sentence after a few hours since sweat cannot evaporate and cool you down, seems like we were getting a bit close here ? A few drivers went straight to the medical center post race !
In other news HAM is getting a $50K fine for....crossing the track on foot after his ambitious move. And there were rumors in the German press that Papa Stroll was shopping the team (F1 only, not Aston road cars) to Saudi Arabia's Aramco for 800 mil. And that Mama Stroll had enough of watching her son crash and is putting pressure on him to complete that.. Who knows. Could explain Lance's current frustration and pressure. Name the corners on classic tracks. Easy. Try that at any of the new tracks.
That said, I do have to say I enjoy the Baku race. Remember when they went off into the forest at Hockenheim?? |

Probably an easier out than firing your son. AM has a good team they just need a different driver at No. 2

Holy Cow!
The 92-year-old did not declare more than £400m held in a trust in Singapore when asked by tax authorities in 2015. Ecclestone has agreed in a civil settlement to repay almost £653m to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), a court heard. He was sentenced to 17 months in prison, suspended for two years.

His rumored net worth is 2.5 - 3.5 billion . I am sure he had no interest in going to prison . Smart to write the check and make the guilty plea. Stupid to think he wouldn't get caught .

"Initially, the former F1 CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges and a trial was planned to start next month. However, he changed his plea, resulting in the $800 million bill and a sentence of 17 months that was suspended because of Ecclestone’s age and health issues. If his record remains clean for the next two years, he will not have to serve his sentence at all, the Times noted."

Yea, it seems silly to make him go to prison, when he paid the rather large fine, and he is a really old man. Just don't do it again!
He did not stab or assault anyone, just tried to keep from paying taxes. It seems crazy to me to have a couple of BILLION dollars, and rick jail time to keep a few million, especially when he is that old.
