I think there was a story about when he was filming Days of Thunder that he got really good, and that he could get serious, but that Nicole Kidman said no and that was that.

The only thing I've seen that he doesn't do good in.....his interviews. He's so gd happy with his life that he can't stop smiling at every question.

Evidently, he became a pretty good amateur pool player before filming "color of money". He was coached by then world champ Mike Sigel. It would be fun to watch Cruise and Joe Rogan in a 9 ball race. My pick would be Rogan...mainly because Rogan has a love of the game, still plays, while I've never heard of Cruise showing up at a tournament. (Edit) What neither could do is come close to hanging with a pro.

^^^ Better than PN in the action sequences...less than even in the dialogue scenes.

He's a little guy, and if I had to guess, Type A, and seriously driven/intense. I assume in addition to being driven to excel, he's probably also got some natural physical ability.
He may be a nut, but he's good at what he does.

He's really quick. Seriously quick. Physically. His athleticism is impressive. I pay attention to that, and he happens to be pretty quick. I wouldn't try to punch him and I know with confidence he could outrun me. And I'm actually pretty quick. For an old fart.

Well, Tom did race a Nissen in the SSA class in SCCA back in the 80's that was crewed out of Bob Sharps stable and was painted & sponsored the same way as another driver who I knew to go by the name of P. L. Newman.

I'm not sure, but I doubt he can dunk a basketball...

Eff effing no. Watch his scenes against PN in the color of money. He's a wooden hack.
And I'm no fanboy of Newman.

Do acrobatics in a helicopter. Drive a Formula One car.
It’s good to be Tom Cruise. |
