Perhaps a bit too aggressive in some cases. As talented as these pilots are they seem to forget that Physics still has the last word, but it is great racing.

So Toprak signs with BMW and stays in WSBK. I guess this is going to end any hope of ever seeing him ride in MotoGP. This will be interesting to watch. I wish him well.
Jeez, what has happened to Yamaha? https://www.cyclenews.com/2023/05/article/toprak-razgatlioglu-moves-to-bmw/ |

Cool! Thx for the heads up!

Marc Marquez can't stop himself. This guy is gonna hurt himself, or someone else, really badly soon if someone can't calm him down.

He needs to step away. Has yet to complete a full race this season.

When MM was moving up to MGP from M2 I wondered if he'd outgrown doing very dangerous moves and for a long time it seemed he did. But recently he's writing checks his talent can no longer cash.
AFA this incident is concerned IDT it was particularly egregious or stupid. He fked up and Zarco paid for it too. MM should just apologize. After my car crash my son took me snowboarding but I just couldn't make it work. So the wise young man said "Dad stop trying to use your old body and start using the body you have now." |
The problem I have with this crash isn't the crash itself - I see it as a racing incident (albeit one where MM is overdriving his tires trying to set lap times), but his behavior in the aftermath. First, after picking himself off the deck, instead of going to check on Johan's well-being, he ran to his pits for the spare bike. Then, he put the blame on JZ because the Ducati was in the path of the sliding Repsol Honda. His immaturity in these situations is mind boggling, considering how long he's been racing at the professional level.

add; MM just might be a bit too close to out of control. Pushing the envelope is one thing but dang he's crashing a lot. |
I have been watching MotoGP since sometime in the middle to late 1990s and don't recall seeing a level of suck from Yamaha and Honda like they are sucking now - basically surreal how they are getting their asses handed to them so soundly, event after event, qualifying, sprints, main show, the whole deal.
Speaking of which, it looks like Aprilia has also shat the bed for the moment. Strange. |
Marquez has withdrawn from the Ring today. The guy crashed 5 times this weekend. Either he needs a new ride or a serious psych reset.
Jorge Martin may be a real deal threat to Bagnaia this year. |
0.06 seconds.

MM keeps on crashing. I'm starting to think it's not so much his fault as I previously thought. Maybe Honda has caught whatever gremlins Yamaha has been dealing with. FQ isn't crashing but neither bike seems to be performing as well as the Ducs.

Vale's fans are happy, Fabio is happy, Marquez drops to the deck trying to suck a wheel in Q1, not as happy.
|
How much longer till the stewards have a chat with MM? Has he earned a sit-down with them? I'm of the opinion that Honda at least needs to have a serious chat with the guy. Certainly a "WTF? Marc" conversation.
