I take a paper clip and bend one end 90 and use it to feel if there is a thinning spot near the head on the inside of the cases. I think I saw this trick in one of my reloading manuals.

While on the subject of reloading...

I was reloading some .45 ACP on the Dillion 550B and a primer must have sat in the small cup crookedly then BANG. Now I wear eye protection and ear muffs. A primer going off unexpectedly in front of you is pretty loud and scary.
