Lets put in a pool she said

It'll be a nice way to cool off during those long hot Texass summer days she said.

Can you aerate it at night to cool it off?
A hot pool is not refreshing.

Just took off the bubble wrap solar cover, with only the solar roof heater were at 88 pool and high 70s air temp.

Awesome!

I used to LOVE pool projects!

I put together a 4x6 photo album of strictly pool projects I had done to show prospective clients.

Will post some later.

Here's one I grabbed from the net......

Baz,

I was going to say you have a very nice pool from the net.

I specifically looked for a house without a swimming pool.

Less to take care of, I listened to some of the stuff dad told me. Couple that with the older I get the smarter he looks, I have citrus trees instead. I throw the soaker hose at them once a week, maybe twice this week, with the triple digits. Supposed to be 105 for the birthday party on Sunday. My wife will hate the hat I am going to wear, but portable shade on your head is not such a bad thing.

This is an important consideration, particularly if you happen to live deep in the heart of Texas There are devices specifically for this purpose. Bubbler I think they call it, very imaginative nomenclature. Often, it does not cool off at night, during hot spells. Hated that, I want it to cool off, so I can put the top down. It is not the heat, it is the humidity. Did you know that there is an unhappy confluence of barometric pressure, dew point and temperature where the relative humidity can exceed 100% I actually called the damn TV station when I heard that 102% jazz

Cool it off. I dream of warm water and floating about in the heat.

Rarotonga was nice but warm water in my backyard would be bliss.

95* pool and air temp, 95% humidity adds up to you not having a good time.

I have known guys who would make blocks of ice and throw them in. Box with a bag lining it, fill with water and freeze, would add a few drops of food coloring

Our pool heater came with the option of a cooling cycle. Only once have I thought we needed to cool the pool water.
It has been so cool this summer that as of June 28 we have not yet used the pool. The weather guy says it's supposed to be warm tomorrow, but they've gotten it wrong in the past.

My wife sets ours to 90 on purpose! Still refreshing on a hot day though…and I find I’m more apt to go night swimming when it’s nice and warm, so I don’t mind. We have a limited pool season here in PA, so I don’t mind spending $$ to heat for a few months.

Same here. This year we only use the pool heater during the sunlight hours to take advantage of the solar panels. We keep the pool temp at 85 for the same reasons you stated.
My son in law is a transplant here from Canadaland and prefers his pool at 75 degrees. Too cold for me!!

My buddy around the corner who put the chiller in tried dry ice once.

He was having a party and his pool was 95 degrees so he bought a few hundred pounds of dry ice and tossed that in.

Dropped the temp like 2 degrees.

300 lbs of dry ice sounds like a lot but it converts to about 36 gallons of volume which in a 30,000 gallon pool is literally a drop in the bucket.

Our neighborhood pool has a chiller…love it on a hot summer day and I don’t have to do the maintenance!

Sweating in a pool is one of the biggest arguments in the swimming world.
