Henry Manny, writing for R&T, called the E type "The greatest crumpet collector known to man."

Fun video..thanks.

Enzo said it was the most beautiful car when it first arrived on the scene. I remember back in 1987 a guy I worked with told me of an E-Type coupe that was for sale near where he lived, said it needed some work and it was something like 2500 bucks. Geez!!!

I remember when the 1st video came out and I said only Jay Leno could/would have a local cop come by and give him a tip about the Jag found in the garage.

Turned out really nice.

I laughed at that too. But who better to get it? Sympathetic restoration, no expense spared, and he shows it to the world through his channel.

Yep, exactly. I'd LOVE to have something like that, but I wouldn't be able to afford to do it justice.

I remember reading several articles by Peter Egan about the complexity and cost of working on old E-types.

I've always loved them. I think I've got a matchbox or hotwheels from the early 70s that was one of my favorites when I was a tiny fella. It looks a lot like this, same color, probably about the same condition.

I watched this the night before and really enjoyed it.
You notice his mechanics in the background? I bet his shop is bigger than most Porsche indy shops.
I bet he dropped a crap load of money into this care just because he can.

I have an old AM radio that is an E-Type coupe. It was left in a storage building at I house I rented once. The only information about it that I have found is that it was a prototype by a company called WACO so not many were made. I am currently re-chroming the bumpers and windshield frame.

Per the Internet, the price to buy a '63 e-type new was ~$6k.

My parents bought their first home in the early 70s. I think it was a tiny little 2 br home. I think they paid 14k. So probably 10 years later and just over twice the price for a home. Yeah, I think anyone that's ever bought a new E-type was not exactly "middle class" with respect to spending power.

Thanks, here are the details of the radio and the bumpers and windshield frame stripped of the old chrome, painted glossy black, and then I will spray chrome on them.

Posting this as an update. I rechromed the bumpers and windshield frame on my Jaguar E-Type coupe AM radio and got it all back together today.
