Cool video, thanks for posting.

But I have to say this statement made me chuckle a bit.

"while curling has recently skyrocketed in popularity"

Oh REALLY, "skyrocketed"?

Have you tried it? Would be a great way to escape the Tx heat.

Huh - You wouldn't think there would be such a market for those. It's not like they wear out, right?

That’s really cool. Thank you for sharing. I’ve curled before and even won a bonspiel some how… I just assumed the rocks were made from concrete.

Seriously, curling is a big thing in small towns in Western Canada. Kids either play hockey or they curl or their parents are on meth… true story… almost. My kids ski race which os probably more addicting and expensive than meth.

Neat video. I loved the TV show How it's made.
Always fascinating to me to see how something so simple looking is such a specific and expensive and super consistent piece of equipment.

Well sure, that makes sense "it's very popular in places where the only activities for half of the year are ice hockey, snow mobiling, curling, porking, or doing meth."

I had some cousins that moved from Florida to Minot, North Dakota when they were little. When they came back they were teenagers. I was a bit confused by the posters of snow mobiles on the walls in their rooms when they moved back.

Well .... if I ever meet someone in person who has .....

I'll know they ain't from around here .

It might take lots of skill, technique, etc. but just like wimmins twirling ribbons .... it doesn't belong in the Olympics (the only times I've ever seen it).

Beer curls .... now there's a sport

Nothing wrong with snowmobiling. Even a little John Deere 340... yep, they did put their name on snowmobiles.

Perhaps if you had grown up in a place where competitive curling was on a television station piped down from Canada to Detroit you would have developed an appreciation for it.

It usually aired after Saturday cartoons but before wide world of sports which means the next best exciting thing to do was read a cereal box or the toothpaste tube.

It slowly grew on you but never to the point you would admit you watched it and actually liked it.

Nope, nothing wrong with snowmobiling, unless you live in FL, then you're going to be waiting a while.
