Tooth enamel regeneration?
It might be possible with the right toothpaste. Those kids with rotten Mountain Dew cola drinking mouths might have a chance to have natural chicklettes to show off much later on in life.
(caveat: this is something seen on the internet. I have no idea what the other ingredients do with each product..) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8432723/ 3.1. Tooth Remineralisation Modern dentistry has taken a more preventative approach through the understanding of enamel remineralisation in early carious activity [17]. Demineralised enamel and dentine have mineral ions removed from the HA crystals [40]. If the HA is partially demineralised, then this process is reversible if exposed to favourable oral environments [40]. This process is called remineralisation, where lost mineral ions in the HA crystals are restored [40]. There are many methods of remineralisation, saliva can aid in remineralisation by providing a constant source of calcium and phosphate required for the process to occur [40,41]. Fluoride also promotes remineralisation by forming fluorapatite with the calcium and phosphate released from demineralisation, this is more resistant to acid attack [40,41]. Casein phosphopeptide–amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) is another system that promotes the precipitation of minerals to hard tooth tissue [41].

Yes you can remineralize enamel to a certain extent. Most effective with smaller incipient decay/demineralization.
If you were thinking you could regrow enamel in a 2 x 3 mm defect you would be disappointed. I used to get free samples of a toothpaste called EnamelOn which advertised remineralization of decay. To be honest I was impressed with its desensitization effects No affiliation but here is a link. https://www.enamelon.com/

Repairing a carious lesion just isn't possible with an OTC product yet. Any product claiming that it can do so is just lying or at the least is misrepresenting what their product can do. A dentifrice may help slow enamel loss but that's it. What is often represented as remineralization is just the introduction of hydroxy apatite into the matrix but it does not heal a carious lesion. There is also a little known side effect of Stannous Fluoride which is staining of the enamel. Sodium Fluoride doesn't do that. Also, we should brush before we eat and not after eating acidic foods. Acidic foods soften the enamel and brushing can accelerate enamel wear. Instead use a fluoridated rinse after eating to restore a neutral pH.

Sensodyne and Pronamel are my #1 and #2 toothpaste recommendations. #3 is Periodontax also made by Glaxco Smith Kline.
No doubt there will be a procedure to remineralize larger lesions in the future. Likely involving several in office steps. However, I don’t doubt in 20 years there will be an OTC product available likely the result of your research.

I'm thinking of using that same process they use to refinish the enamel on cast iron bathtubs. Can I still get Avocado Green?

When I was 17/18 (late 80s) I went to the dentist (before beginning college) and had everything taken care of. They also applied a sealant to all of my molars. I have no idea what it was or anything, but it was many, many years before I went back to a dentist, and I only had a couple/few small cavities. I don't know if that's just my genetics or the sealant or what.

Enamel remineralization-public fluoridation has been around in varying degrees since the 1940's
Enamel regeneration- the next big thing- right around the corner- like a rainy day homemade nuclear fusion reactor in a 1950's popular science magazine made out of a coleman cooler, plaid, and boy scout badges. Lot of cool research, and lots of potential, but nothing coming to a theatre near you in the next week or two.

I remember seeing a documentary about a guy who was a Re-Enamelator in 1985. I'm sure it's more advanced now.
