Time Travel Fantasy

Came across this fun video...what if 50 USA Rangers could be sent back to defend the Alamo? Boy, would that ever mess with the time/space continuum. Doc warned Marty about that. About 15 minutes..

How about a few F-18's at Pearl Harbor?

Then again there was this girl in high school...

Just one AC-130 "Puff the Magic Dragon" and the crew could have taken out all of the Mexican troops is short order with just thee crew on board. AKA the Angle of death.

Gawd yes...and imagine the terror of ground troops in a time before aircraft. One pass by Puff would take care of things.

The final countdown looks like a fun flick. Never saw it...

That's probably the way to go, but an A-10 wouldn't be a bad option either.

And no anti aircraft weapons to take down the aircraft.

As I remember it can put a bullet in every square inch over a football field in just seconds.

A-10 would be brutal against a surface of that era

The old Twilight Zone TV series explored a similar idea back in 1963 with this episode from season 5

A modern day Montana National Guard tank crew on a training mission finds itself at the Little Big Horn...only suddenly it's 1876 and the famous battle is in full swing.

I've always enjoyed stories involving time travel. I think it might be fun to pop back for a while to see how the pyramids were built...

Soon we'll be able to send a Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 to the Santa Ana home around 1800. He'll arrive nude in Jalapa, Vera Cruz. How do you say "Give me your clothes" in Spanish?

Final countdown was an amazing movie for it’s time. The look on the rescued Japanese pilot when they landed on the carrier was awesome. I was bummed selfishly at the ending but it made sense. Lots of what if videos online for similar content. I admit it is somewhat a guilty pleasure for me.

I’m rather convinced that the 50 Rangers would make the difference. The range and accuracy of their optic-equipped M4s would make each Ranger a deadly shot on any Mexican soldier who broke cover, any mass charges would be slaughtered by the machine guns, and the snipers would have more range than the Mexicans’ longest-range artillery. Running out of ammunition would be the main issue, so M4 selectors would have to be firmly set on “single”. Seems like 50 Rangers would normally carry over 10,000 rounds, and if they knew they were going to defend a static position they would presumably bring more.

While the air craft are a good idea logistics become a problem

Lets say transition happens just after a complete top off from in air refuel

How long can the plane operate and more importantly where will it land?

That is asking logical questions about a fantasy situation.
