Someday it would be a blast for the Big 3 to plan a massive gathering at some central location and and battle it out! Feasible? maybe not, but something to dream about.

"I HAVE A DREAM."

Wow, I didn't know this 959 was a rally car.

It seem that Gruppe B has been appied to more than one group.
. . .as others; "Racers Group," "R-Gruppe," "Type-R," "Speed Racer" . . there's all kinds of variations on that one.

In fact, as far back as the 50's "R-Gruppe" described a type of Truck : "stanchions (2), end and side walls removable or foldable, load length at least 10.1 m." (oh-no! . . looks like someone had R-Gruppe first)

So get over it. . . besides, they're going fwd, like it or not.

(my apologies to "The Racers Group." no implied boulevard-cruising wanna-be speed-racer-ness. --everybody knows "The Racers Group" actually, seriously, *is* what it is named")

ha ha...I always like getting behind the wheel of the "fire breathing skinny arzz car", so another gathering would be fun! But with the distances I would have to travel...and the shipping fees I would have to be there in spirit!

But, I do plan on running the Nurburgring very soon....Gruppe B style!

What do you mean? 77 through 81 is just one car!

My other car belongs in a different group. Unless "B" stands for basket!

Well I have to say some people take things way to seriously. I believe what John (#001) had intended was to create a place where anyone who drives, aspires to drive, or just can appreciate the Porsche marquee and all body styles that wear its badge, would be welcome. No matter what modifications (- the V8 thing) or lack there of have been made.
I am a member of PCA but I am lucky because the local chapter is very welcoming. Not true for all parts of the country.
SCWDP – I don’t have an SC so no go for me. But thats my choice not to have one. Everyone I have met involved in the SCWDP are great people though and hold no real grudge against my long hood, that I can tell.
R Gruppe- A group of guys who have a love for hot rodding Porsches and then driving those Porsches. Will I ever really hotrod my 71? Probably not. Will I hopefully get another Porsche and hotrod it? Hopefully. The cars within the elite circle of R Gruppe are simply incredible in my eyes. All them, including the 914s and 912. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of the R Gruppe guys and all that I have met are open and welcoming. Will I be asking for membership? No, I don’t believe my car has the attitude worthy. Do I hold that against them? Hell no! That’s my choice.
Gruppe B – Maybe just a group of Porsche enthusiast who appreciate all Porsches on the road and in garages across the globe.

Welcome Ray!
Sorry for the ramble, really trying not to work today.

Yeah, I haven't been about having fun in this thread....

I posted a picture of a Porsche golf cart and joked that I had finally found a Gruppe I could belong to. Not one response, and I'm the one who's uptight? LOL

I just think that maybe this is a little redundant. Go to a Porsche event and there will be a 356 corral, an R Gruppe corral, and Early S Registry corral, a Boxster corral etc. All the cars that are left in the Porsche section, (Including my GOLF CART!!!!) are Gruppe B. But hell, who doesn't like stickers and T-shirts?

I would like to apply for #23 for my golf cart and #WTF for my red beauty pictured below.

Yeah DB, I'm sure they are great guys and have a good thing going. Everytime pics get posted showing one of their events I get...... well I think you know what I mean. lol. If we put forth the effort I think we can really have a nice GRuppe of our own. Then we can squash them. lol.

Race - It wasnt the golf cart so much as the 24min of Daytona that killed me. But that red beauty, something tells me that picture doesnt do her justice.

#001- If I can be of any help in the aquiring of propaganda let me know.

#071 Still not working

What? You've never seen this monstrosity?? The ULTIMATE bastard automobile. I'm unsure anyone ever figured out what it was originally ....

I think it contains Porsche pieces - an awesome GruppeB mascot!

Excellent.... a Mad Irishman. Should fit in well. Since I am number one I guess I should get my bastard on the road. Work will begin post haste! The 1966 bastard (late production 66S, all original I might add) currently resides in my Fathers driveway in Alabama awaiting future transport. This is a true original long hood that will serve us well when antagonizing the R guys.
