I'd add that Bond has to be slightly dapper, as if it's all so easy for him. "Shaken not stirred".
He finds the chink in the armour and uses it at the right times.

Craig was visceral, raw, and good, but none of that. Shoot the panel and everything blows up as he walks away.

Please don't let Bond go woke
The character was created as an English white male, and should remain that way
Want a black, female or gay secret agent ? Go create a new franchise
Would hate to see 007 get the Bud Light treatment

For me "Goldfinger" will always be the gold standard! :)

Steve Carlton 09-29-2023 04:12 PM

Yep. My favorite one.

sc_rufctr 09-29-2023 05:05 PM

I don't really have a favorite but I always thought Pierce Brosnan did well with the material he was working with. Also Roger Moore. Looking back Moonraker (1979) was awful but Moore wasn't to blame for that.

Bill Douglas 09-29-2023 09:42 PM

I think Daniel Craig is my favorite.

The Spy Who Loved Me was the greatest Bond film ever made. Hands down. It had it all.
I am now ready for unlimited gloves-off debate if you dare.

I’ve always enjoyed every James Bond and wondered if the new Bond would be up to the task. I think they have.

I’ve enjoyed Daniel Craig as Bond, although Skyfall was a little bleak.

I've enjoyed almost all of them. I think the Bond film that is the worst is the one with Teri Hatcher and Michelle Yeoh, Tomorrow Never Dies. I think it was the direction or something. I think the actors and actresses should have been able to do a good job. That's the only bond that I think was actually "bad". I can't remember the last time I watched that one, but I'll watch any other Bond movie.

I love the style of the older movies.

It would be a good time to binge Bond movies in order.

Pretty much any time is a good time for that (except "Tomorrow Never Dies", you can skip that one)

Clearly you know good Bond when you see it.

From "Die Another Day" (2002) - Halle Berry as Giacinta "Jinx" Johnson, an NSA agent.

- The pic on the right is from August 2020!

hate to break it to you but its already canon that bond has run a honeypot on another spy, who was a man.

bond's enduring charm is that he is a hero of his age. not that he is a hero of the 1960s. if you want 1960s bond, there is plenty to watch. they wont be making more 1960s bond however.

New rule, it’s not “canon” if it’s written by an idiot.

So many decades old IPs are being trashed by talentless nepo babies with no respect for hat made them successful originally.

thats not how canon works.

sorry. it already happened. its over.

bond is capable of anything, why wouldn't he be able to run a honeypot on enemy agent who is a man?
