So, y'all do realize that Bond is not a real person right? So, being a character from a story, James Bond's "character" could be perceived as whatever type of person you wish him to be despite certain characteristics of the "character" therefore, your James Bond experience is specific to you thus allowing for each person to have their own individual James Bond experience. Not buyin' it, Marty. Bond is super human and the stories are fantasy. But they are direct and detailed so you follow along while the plot develops. Bond gets his licks and kicks in all the way down to the last scene where he's got the girl.

In real life, we don't always get the girl.

He didn’t get Vesper. I shudder to think what would have happened if Le Chiffre had been gay instead of a mean man with a rope.

You should try writing fan fic. You can have bond Captain Kirk and Batman in a throuple fighting mecha Godzilla. And you’ll be “represented”.

The problem comes when you try to burden the rest of the world with your Mary sue. It is just bad writing. For a character to work their personality must have some logical consistency. Even the crazy ones. They must be true to their natures, or there must be a compelling reason for them not to. John wick could not adopt a cat at the end. Do you understand?

Why has this thread only got one star? Seriously.

Steve Carlton 10-03-2023 12:26 PM

Someone doesn't like the subject matter or yellowperil. It's childish.

sc_rufctr 10-03-2023 12:53 PM

It now has three. ;)

sc_rufctr 10-03-2023 12:55 PM

Some more of Honor Blackman. That should help move things in the right direction. :)

No such thing as too much Honor Blackman.

yup. exactly.

bond is a hero bigger than homophobia. if you think this is uncharacteristic of the character, your bond is a small hero indeed.

Well, In the shooting script, Bond explicitly states "No homo" after delivering his lines to Silvia, but this scene was cut from the theatrical release.

If you've never read Fleming's books

Thirteen Bond books, I think, I would recommend it. Good reading.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1696448392.jpg

Its make believe guys!! Why can't we just have fun with it ---enough already with all the politically correct crap.

The bad guys never could shoot straight -ask John Wayne, Arnold, Luke, Let it go already.

yellowperil 10-04-2023 12:30 PM

Reading would be fun, it always was, especially with a good book. That's all I'm saying.

matthewb0051 10-04-2023 12:31 PM

I was always partial to Luciana Paluzzi from Thunderball, which also had probably the best theme song.
