I think so. It was a good and honorable death.

Steve Carlton 10-02-2023 12:57 PM

I didn't think there was anything special about Honor Blackman in the 60s-70s. Since then, I've come to think of her as the classiest of the Bond girls. But I don't really know much about any of them. She just comes off that way to me.

Oh :( ... Don't watch this if you're squeamish.

I suspect women in the real espionage world are often subjected to such indignities. Some things remain the same.

sorry. it already happened. its over.

bond is capable of anything, why wouldn't he be able to run a honeypot on enemy agent who is a man?

Because it is not in the character’s nature. You can change the character through a long and hopefully dramatic story that the readers will find entertaining. But they did none of this. They just did it. They are just bad writers.

The people running the franchise are huffing their own farts. Good stunts aren’t enough to carry things anymore. They’re getting their asses kicked by mission impossible.

Stupid canon is not canon.

Let’s agree to pretend the last half dozen Star Wars shows never happened. The last two Indiana jones’, almost all recent Star Trek, etc.

I live in fear that they will remake big trouble in little China.

Tobra 10-02-2023 02:44 PM

NFW they ever remake Big Trouble.

If it is contrary to the established character of the person, it is stupid canon.

They’d have to make him a black lesbian. Pass.

of course its in bond's nature. he is a super spy, he can do anything, and he does everything, you think he'd cringe at a little homosexuality? the man murders people with impunity, but where he draws the line, is another dude?

weak. bond's enemies just than be all gay men, and boom, he's defeated. dumb as ****.

its weird what people will defend in order to be against LGBTQ issues, in this case, the worlds most skilled and competent spy, gets to be incompetent around gay men.

dumb.

i guess archer really is a better super spy than bond, hes man enough to pull a honey pot on a dude.

You have never read a real Ian Fleming book in your life.

the man who stares down death with calm, cool precision and control, isnt phased by nuclear war, lasers in space, or invisible cars ... defeated by a limp wrist.

its pretty pathetic when you think about it.

Assuming you’re both talking about this scene in Skyfall, I think you’re all reading too much into it.

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/sep/08/james-bonds-gay-hint-was-almost-cut-from-skyfall-says-producer

Bond doesn’t admit to any gay experience, but as C-punk said, it doesn’t rattle him either. He’s committed to the mission.

No different than a female agent using her sexuality to advance her mission.

It doesn’t mean that he’s gay.

yup. exactly.

bond is a hero bigger than homophobia. if you think this is uncharacteristic of the character, your bond is a small hero indeed.
