Sending out prayers to all of you. Please say "hi" to Cindy from me, and remind her that you're pretty much useless without her..., so she needs to be back on her feet soon! Go Huskies....

Disregard my earlier post..now they think it was a stroke....forget the technical term. One that doesn't show the usual symptoms, since her face doesn't sag, arms work, etc. So, looking like a long term in a rehab facility...hoping for one close to home.

Hopefully will learn more tomorrow...

Irony...I'm the one at more stroke risk, with AFIB...

Down in the dumps....so thankful our RN daughter is here.

Okay, no update, going back to the hospital soon. But...even rough times can have some humor.

Thinking my daughter was sleeping, I didn't bother with my bathrobe walking to the shower. "Whoops"

Daughter: "Dad, don't worry about it. I've worked both ER and Surgery. I've probably seen more d**ks than a hooker."

Lol Michael...yeah, today made me more hopeful. Cindy already able to make it to the john and back to bed with the help of a nurse...and/or therapist. Using a walker, of course. Therapist said Cindy is making progress rapidly. Probably a couple of weeks in a therapy facility...a good one about 15 miles from our home run by Mennonites that has a supurb reputation. By the time Cindy is released, I hope to have a bathroom remodeled with the grab bars, walk in shower, etc. Luckily ours is a 2 &1/2 bath house, so no real hardship during the remodel.

Yes, my mood improving a bit...now just hoping I can get into my routine with eating & sleeping...still pretty wonky myself...maybe 6 hours of sleep over the last couple of days..

Yes, I need her with me...how else would I know what to do?

Sorry to hear of this and hope for a full recovery. I have some experience with strokes in my family and one of the keys is quick medical treatment after the event. It sounds like you had that. All the best to her.

Oh man that's hilarious. It's something of a reminder that life continues to roll on through all of our sorrows. I wish you strength and an extended remission for your bride.

All good news, Paul. You're both so lucky to have a support group to swoop in and take some of the burden off you while you and Cindy work through this valley.

(And, maybe while the living space is being updated for safety you could have one of the workers put a bathrobe hook somewhere between your bed and the bathroom, ha ha!)

Update...A happy one, I think. The way things were going downhill the last day or so, one of the MD's in the Corvallis Hospital got in "This isn't right" mode...Ordered another MRI. He went through ALL her records, since her first MS diagnosis, decided her stroke diagnosis was in error, that it was MS all along, ordered steriods.

Just off the phone with an excited Cindy...joyfully proclaiming she could lift her legs! So, now thinking it'll be steroids treatments, therapy, and maybe back home in a few weeks.

Daughter flew back to her South Dakota home for a few days yesterday. Will be back here Monday. Bless her and her VERY understanding hubby. He's a sports nut, so in her bag was an old paperback I bought when I was a kid..."Baseball Stars of 1955". Hope he enjoys it...

Wow. Paul, that is good news. No stroke. I wonder how they got off into that direction. That's the good news. Steroids aren't, but it is what it is. At least they are treatment. We've BTDT.

Hey Paul, I’m late to the thread but it looks like good timing.

I’m very happy to hear she’s doing much better!

Much love, peace and strength to Cindy and your daughter!

You? Get back to work…

j/k, you know we lo…like you too.

Milt, kinda like wrenching, isn't it? Kinda hard to fix a problem unless you've accurately diagnosed the problem. From the first time we were in a hospital both Cindy & I told them we thought it was the MS. After all, since her first diagnosis back in 1977, we've been through many ups & downs with her relapsing-remitting form of the disease.

But...we're not MD's. What do we know? Yes, mixed emotions now...but hopefully they got it right this time. Sure seems like it.

(edit) Don, you posted while I was typing. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
