Ive never been lonely in my life. I dont know anybody that is lonely because they are single. Typically, myself included, people who are single are very happy and choose to remain single. Im married but I lived alone for 15 years and I was happy as could be.

If a person is lonely, they need to go do some chores or get a hobby, or start drinkin.

Having a woman or a man has nothing to do with it and is certainly no guarantee that you wont be lonely. A person can be married 50 years and be the loneliest person in the world...you'll see :-)

I mean if you're not impacted by something that doesn't mean it's not a thing. Statistically people are experiencing more loneliness than ever and that has negative effects on society, so it's worth looking at why that's happening.

Being alone and being lonely are two separate things, I think. I’ve been alone most of my life. I’ve never felt lonely. I love being alone. I won’t bore the internet with the reasons why

But I will say, I didn’t marry my wife because I was lonely. I married her because I love her and enjoy sharing our lives with each other

If there is an epidemic out there, I suspect it has nothing to do with the way women perceive them (men), despite what CP says

what I do not think is -- that being with a woman or man is a cure for loneliness

Yes it might cure you from being "alone" - but you appear to believe that having a GF or BF is a cure for loneliness. Two separate things, as I stated above. (alone vs loneliness)

You also seem to believe there are a lot of men out there who are afflicted with loneliness because women are repulsed by them.

I believe that the root cause of their loneliness is something else, not being without a woman or without a man to date

I have my opinion regarding what that root cause may be but this isn't the thread for that
