Aarp?
What's your opinion on AARP?
I finally joined last year. My opinion? Their insurance* is too expensive, I can do better on cell service*, and their magazine articles are frivolous at best. (*Yes, i know it's literally not their's.)

Nope. For all the reasons C.C. posted.

Never even once considered AARP, but I was a Consumer Cellular customer for many years (15+) .... perfect for me and hard to beat their rates for my usage (even without the AARP discount). I dropped them about 6 months ago (they discontinued offering T-Mobile as an option).
Now I pay a bit more .... loved CC though! |

My wife finds it funny that I have been getting things in the mail about joining AARP. I'm 58 and she is 12 years younger than I am. I told her that I refuse to grow old and that she is what keeps me young!!! Well, that, and alcohol!!!

Bingo...when they supported Hillary's socialized medicine scheme, I knew they weren't for me.

Gave up AARP a coule of years ago. I still get reminders from them. I also gave up Tripple A, from which I get reminders too. I've been downsizing in that respect for a while now. AARP never gave me the impression it was a benefit in any way.

I was on the fence, but then dropped them like a hot potato once I realized how truly political they are--that and the fact that the President of the organization can't pronounce "AARP". She says "AA ER P" and it drives me bananas. That and all the endless stream of junk mail that hits my physical mail box.
Same for me on AAA after over 20 years as a premier member...their "service" was anything but, and the last several times I tried to use them, no one ever bothered to show up at all. Some of these decisions are just too easy anymore......

This. And their politics suck. Anyone over 55 will start getting the crap from them. I just tossed it right in the recycle bin after ripping it in half.

Fitty ... that's when the AARP stuff started hitting my mail box ... every 3 months for several years . And AAA .... another one I'd had for years.... dropped 'em when all the unsolicited BS started ... (ins. etc.,). I've finally gotten my CU and Spectrum to quit filling my mailbox up too ...
Does a person REALLY need a mailbox? What would they do with all the "crap" if I took mine down .... hmmm ![]() |

AARP represents AARP.
Just like with google, Seniors are their product and not their customers. |
