They're exact homonyms, therefore they sound the same to everybody, regardless of each person's status as a native English apeaker or not.

Sounds like your visual memory is good and your auditory memory not so great. I'm the opposite. I can spell hard words from sound, but arrange a few things on a table then take them away, and I have no clue what was there... unless I chant their names to myself.

No offense intended. I hope your child is working through the issue well. Sincerely.

Not offended. Enrolled her in a Catholic school for learning disabilities. Class size went from 25 to 12. She graduated with honors from HS and college. It was a long haul.

My handwriting is atrocious, but I love it. I consider it a personalized font. It's a combination of printing, cursive, and fluidity.

In that period where I got the bad penmanship grades, we were only permitted to write in cursive. We couldn't print. These days I print unless I'm signing something. Even my printing is junk, but I think, much more readable than my cursive ever was.

My handwriting is what is is. If I could type EVERYTHING, I would.

I remain a terrible speller and since I have worked IT my entire adult life have zero skill writing by hand to paper. That skill needs constant attention. I am quick with a keyboard and nobody has claimed I am of less than good intelligence…that I know of 😂

I frequent a few sports websites and the feedback comments always contain the most misspelled words. Sometimes making it almost impossible to read.

Was just now reading one comment where the poster said the coach was a "tearable coach"

Maybe the person who posted that wants to tear him a new one?

Or, maybe the coach just made everyone cry?

^^^ And almost all of those boards have an edit feature for mistypes.
So either they didn't look at their post, or thought it was correct.
