Neapolitan

Who else grew up with Neapolitan ice cream in their house?

We did. Nobody wanted to eat the pink part… the strawberry. My brother and I would argue over who got more chocolate in our bowls.

We had the same problem and because I was the middle child I got more strawberry than my brother or sister.

In my freezer today you'll find straight up Vanilla or Rum & Rasin.

Didn't like Neapolitan at all....straight vanilla or vanilla bean is my favorite.

Hagen Daz Rum Raisin is addictive....so good.

Gallon and maybe 3 quart size. Usually had a clown and some balloons on the lid and the word Circus.

Four kids so it did not disappear as fast as other flavors and strawberry was last but it was never thrown away.

There was usually the story at the dinner table about how my Dad's Mom cut up the rectangular pint of vanilla into five slices and the biggest slice went to his Dad.

I don't remember ever having it as a kid. I certainly have never bought any.

We have a local diary called Braum's that grows their own feed for the herd of cows to make the milk and ice cream. Zero hormones added, and they have some fantastic ice cream flavors. My favorite is Peanut butter cup. Little Reeses peanut butter cups and peanut butter mixed into the vanilla ice cream. Another favorite is Chocolate chip cookie dough. It has real hunks of raw chocolate chip cookie dough mixed in. Yummy stuff. The have a store about a mile from our house. The also sell fruits, vegetables, meat, and even a fast food counter. And they also have a full ice cream bar so you can get a Sundae or real ice cream milk shake, banana split and and so on with a dozen different hand made ice cream cones.

Occasionally we had it in the freezer when growing up. I didn't care for strawberry much back then. My tastes have changed and enjoy it almost as much as the chocolate or vanilla.

Agreed with the pink. And the green flavor could be nasty as well.

My Mom is really an awful cook. Just horrible.

But, she did buy decent ice cream and cheese. Everything else was disgusting.

We had it. I wasn’t a picky eater as a kid. I ate my portion and then the strawberry that my brother and sister left on their plates. I never thought Neapolitan was a good idea.

We only had neopolitan in our house for guests so everybody had a choice. I usually got whatever had the most left over without choice. I always preferred strawberry or chocolate over vanilla.

We had it. Not often due to being poor. It was sort of a big deal. I only liked the vanilla. As an adult I rarely eat ice cream. Its been about 8 years, I think.

I think the reason so many didn't care for the strawberry portion was there were no berries in it, only flavor. I remember more than once blowing 25 cents on a triple scoop ice cream cone with chocolate and vanilla scoops as the base and a small scoop of strawberries on top. Strawberry ice cream had the pieces of berries.
Yummy.

Best

What about Spumoni?

Three flavors too with if memory serves, pistachio nuts and cherrys and if there is a god, probably chocolate chips in the chocolate part.

Pistachio, chocolate and cherry ice creams. I’m a fan, although it has been years since I have had any.

Both, but mainly the former. All tastes good with chocolate syrup or marshmallow fluff on top.

Dad bought it in the 1/2 Gallon brick and it was a hard rule that you MUST cut the along the short side and get equal portions of each flavor. It was great.

Not a favorite but if it's served at a birthday party, I'll gladly eat it.

IDK if everyone has found Tin Roof Sundae. Properly it's a soda fountain thing but some makers have the combo in half gallon at the store. Store bought is fine with me (if I can find it ).
Ben and Jerry's has Peanut Butter Half Baked® which is close.

My dad loved BR's Cherries Jubilee. He would order half a 3 gallon bucket. The best part was the dry ice packing.
