Yeah, the video was interesting but not something in terms of technology that you wouldn't expect, just not necessarily know a lot about. So he did do a very good 3rd grade explanation of manipulating the ignition and electric motor to harness the power allowing it to increase as traction became more available.

A 2000 Porsche engine has vario-cams and drive by wire. We should expect in 24 years that they have sophisticated this to the enth degree (and more to come, likely).

The Chewbacca insertion was really annoying. Yes, I got the point after the 2nd one. but the one little blurb meaning 'right on' was well placed. Had he been so clever the whole time....

^Can’t be Pruett without some gimmick. It was too much for me too.

About to start, giggity.

Goikhberg causes the first yellow. Why am I not surprised?

CurtEgerer 01-27-2024 10:17 AM

The crowd is massive. I've never seen that many people in the stands for the 24.

rfuerst911sc 01-27-2024 10:51 AM

First hour was ugly , seven cars involved in incidents .

Thanks for the pics and info! Keep it coming. Can't make it this year due to taking care of a new dog in the house.

The Porsche GTP's have survived the night in good shape . Problems for #10 Acura , both BMW's and the #01 Cadillac . With 8 + hours left its anyone's race to win .

CurtEgerer 01-28-2024 02:29 AM

Clicked on to coverage at 6:15am. Cadillac 1st. Porsche 963s 2-3-4-5

Nr. 1 Cadillac OUT. They seem to have the worst luck. What happened this time?

We interrupt these commercials for another 2 minutes of race coverage ... :D

rfuerst911sc 01-28-2024 02:33 AM

^^^ The announcers said the # 01 Cadillac had a drive train failure . They haven't determined if it was electrical or mechanical .

Zeke, don't think the explanation was aimed at grown ups but at future generations of 3rd grade engineers

If he explained it at a the technical level required to create and make it work only 0.00001% of IMSA fans would have an understanding and be able to appreciate the complexity of it all
