A 2000 Porsche engine has vario-cams and drive by wire. We should expect in 24 years that they have sophisticated this to the enth degree (and more to come, likely).

^^^ The announcers said the # 01 Cadillac had a drive train failure . They haven't determined if it was electrical or mechanical .

Zeke, don't think the explanation was aimed at grown ups but at future generations of 3rd grade engineers

If he explained it at a the technical level required to create and make it work only 0.00001% of IMSA fans would have an understanding and be able to appreciate the complexity of it all
