Yup, you’re not that far from the track and the direction is entirely orthogonal.

Love the pic of Spike! Can I get a high-res version to use as a wallpaper? Thanks!

There's a big bump coming out of Turn 10 at Sebring. The cars get varying amounts of air off that bump. I've been trying to get the 'right' shot for years! Got to get the air, exposure right, shutter speed/blur right, background right, lighting right all with the right car .... maybe this year

Is it just me or did anyone else notice how in these two shots, the photographer got them when the liveries were color-matched to the colors in the ferris wheel?!?!

Another; is it just me or did anyone else wonder why the commentators kept referring individually to each Penske entry as "the Porsche Penske" rather than "the Penske Porsche?" Made no sense to me.

I don't know why they call it a 24 hour race.
They spend 40 minutes in the pits,
4 hours under yellow,
And the real racing doesn't start until the last hour.

A car can spin out, be towed back to the pits and go
3 laps down at hour 22 and still fight
for the lead at the end.
That stuff about waving lapped cars around
the pace car is more like professional wrestling.
It's all about the show.

Yup. Truly bizarre, isn't it? See post #123 above.

But good on them for clearing things up.

Now, what can be done about airing 7,413* ads during the race?

The only thing good I can say on the subject is at least they went ad-free somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to go.

I watched the race with no commercial interruptions. It was sweet.

I tuned into NBC (OTA) for a bit with less than an hour to go....

It was unwatchable .... there weren't enough "race interruptions" in between the nonstop commercials

Yes. My first thought was those colors had to be changed while editing.

I was watching ****.tv on an iPad with the Opera browser. It has a built-in VPN.

I went this year for the first time, it's been a bucket list event for me for a long time. Fun sidebar. The last 24 hour race I went to was 30 years ago to the 1994 LeMans. There I got to see this very car win, I was delighted to see it in the infield.

Dauer Porsche 962 'GT1' (teehee) car.

Even better, a little over 24 hours later I got to see its great, great grandchild win at Daytona.

I don't seem to be able to upload the pics. I put in links to two pics, one shows up as a hyper link, and the other doesn't show up at all, even though I've tried editing the post a couple of times.

I read that the Porsche's crew chief told him to stay on the throttle for one more lap just in case

yeah it looked like both kept on pushing one more lap and the gap remained... Very odd... I didn't think Porsche had the legs on the Caddy, and if not for the great pit stop from penske they would not have. Smart of porsche to trust Penske ! The daytona finishes are bonkers. 1 sec after 24 hours, are you kidding me ?
