Not sure if Pescarolo is entering a 3rd Peugeot this year or next. Also heard the Peugeots will sprout conventional wings ....

Weird how white, red, and black is such a prevalent color scheme.

Leave it to the French to come up with something vivid.

Ferrari and BMW hit with fines/points taken away from Daytona race . BOP infractions ............... hmmmmm

^Exceeding expected performance seems like an extra level of rule fuzziness.

I agree that wording seemed odd to me .

William930t 02-23-2024 07:22 PM

My interpretation is that Ferrari and BMW were busted for sandbagging.

But the teams still get the win and the watches so manufacturers points is the slap on the wrist.

Prologue times at Qatar. Toyota is struggling big time  Basically running similar times to newcomers Lamborghini and Alpine!

nice to see Penske and caddy beating the Europeans. europe doesnt think we know how to race in the states, and every time we show up, we kick ass.

who runs caddy? i know its a dallara car, but who runs the racing organization? it isnt pratt and miller is it?

Edit: oh its chip. nice. no wonder they are run so well.

CurtEgerer 02-28-2024 11:47 AM

Yup, it's Ganassi. Cadillac seemed to have a lot of bad racing luck in WEC last year. I'd like to see them be a consistent front runner and race winner this year.

astrochex 02-28-2024 02:12 PM

I doubt Toyota is concerned about Prologue times.

CurtEgerer 02-28-2024 02:43 PM

^^^ maybe. But they did get a sizeable BoP adjustment. Kobayashi is predicting they will have a tough time even scoring points because they can't make the tires work with the added weight. We shall see!

BMW WAY off the pace in FP2  Is Peugeot a contender this year with their modifications? Porsche looking solid.

Porsche are making a fairly major change to their engines by replacing the 180-degree crankshaft with a 90-degree unit. It won't happen until after Le Mans. I guess crank vibration was part of their reliability problems last season.
