Nope.

He still likes the table. Having said that, it doesn't take much to imagine that he most probably comes up with an idea on paper and hands that off to a team of designers who plug it into the supercomputer to suss out the thirty or forty most viable iterations of the initial idea.

He's a busy guy. F1 cars are numbingly complicated. He's not designing a complete car on a drafting table.

Albon crashes and tore up the car , to the point it can't be fixed at the track . Williams doesn't have a spare tub ! So they have decided to pull Logan for the weekend and let Albon use Logans car . Remind me again how Williams is bringing value to F1 ?

I have nothing against Williams or Alex or Logan . Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the F1 decision about Andretti/Cadillac . I hope Alex can get points this weekend .

And Hamilton is finishes in 18th position in practice 2, and Albon could not run or he might have been in 19th.

It's downright silly, F1 teams used to have a spare car ready to go, but now it's so expensive and complicated with all the component regs on gearbox and engine/energy stuff and respective allocations, I imagine it'd be harder to keep track... Haven't heard of spare cars in years, are they expressly forbidden by rule now ? (probably) looks dumb, does it not ? Then again with albon they have a shot at points.

You can't bring a spare car, but you can bring a spare tub. According to the press release, Williams has been working balls out just to get two tubs built and prepared and they didn't have a third one available.

I feel bad(ish) for Sarge, not his fault except at this level you have to fish or cut bait and due to events way beyond his control this weekend, he's behind the counter with a knife and a cutting board while Alex gets to go out in the boat.

No spare car since 2008 as Herr mentioned.

Since the decision was made to pull Logan and let Alex race instead James Vowles has admitted the lack of a spare tub is unacceptable in F1 . I give him props for admitting that . He said it will not happen again . I am assuming there is a hidden message in his statement . He is trying to turn around/reshape a team that has been stuck in mediocrity and I wonder if not everyone is on board ? Clearly just a guess on my part .

I think the announcers during FP2 stated all teams including Haas have a spare tub and they were shocked Williams didn't . Regardless it was a VERY expensive crash as the transmission was split in half and the engine sustained physical damage . I missed FP1 but it must have been a nasty crash to kill that many parts .

The crash didn't look so bad (there's a video of it floating around on Twitter). I mean, all 4 corners torn up (pancaked the right side of the car against a wall, then slid across the track to do the same to the left side, albeit a bit softer on the 2nd hit), but not like anything Mick Schumacher would have done.

Well, pole is no surprise. There should be a race for podium for a short time.

Ricciardo screws up and starts at the back. Hero to zero.

Thanks David, really enjoyed watching that, did an excellent job in explaining everything

Refreshing to see they didn't just focus on the car at the track which is just a few % of what it takes to design, manufacture, build and run a F1 car

Liked the presenter too, so will watch some of her other videos

Good thing they didn't let Andretti Cadillac in, seeing how they were judged to not have
F! standards! Guess F1 doesn't remember Pre Bernie days or what happened to CART when they were at heir top .

Congrats to P1. He should remain in a top tier team next season. He might not have the truckloads of cash that Checo brings, but he's a much much better driver.

Williams need to clear out a lot of their dead wood as I'm sure parts of it hasn't moved with the times since the late 90's

This is a pretty scathing article, interview with the teams new CTO, who knows what's required to compete successfully in F1

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/fry-late-williams-f1-parts-delivery/10581157/

Now with James and Pat running the team, there will be nowhere to hide for those that don't step up their game or toe the company line

That was an interesting race and congrats to the winner . Nice to see some teams get points that have struggled in the past .

Hmm Alonso gets a 20 second penalty for dangerous driving , that drops him to 8th .
