Jay Leno describes his OCC Chopper; Paul Sr. responds "in kind"

A couple of videos where the comments are more fun than the video

If I want to learn about cars and bikes I'll watch Jay. If I want to learn about screaming and temper tantrums I'll watch OCC.

This. I feel the same way. I have heard of other customers of the Tuttles describing real crappy builds.

You can watch a thousand hours of OCC and not learn how to inflate a tire.

OCC were the kings of the unibit. Bolt doesn't quite fit on that $100,000 chopper? Grab the hand drill with a unibit. When in doubt, unibit it out!

As stated over and over again in the comments concerning the OCC "rebuttal" video, their bikes had a hard earned reputation as utter garbage. I never rode one, but I was acquainted with a few guys who spent some pretty big bucks on them. Every one of them was muttering things like "lawsuit" within a month or two of purchase.

The rest of us, of course, thought it was all funnier than hell. Schadenfruede at its best (worst?). Maybe not typical, but these guys were the ones we used to call "RUBS", who called everyone "bro", and probably couldn't safely ride a Big Wheel. Thought they could buy their way to the front of the line and fool everyone into thinking they were some sort of bad ass biker. They rode so infrequently, and such short distances when they did ride, and rode so poorly that I'm surprised they actually ever figured out what POS's they had been conned into buying. They all had lawyers, though...

Wired the ECU/Ignition thru the brake light circuit- just found any old wire to fire the ECU, LOL. Living proof just because you have on "the best" means you don't know to install it.

This is all just a little bit silly and I was surprised at the negative comments from Jay about the bike. If he had a problem with it why didn't he contact Paul Senior direct?

The OCC series? - It seemed contrived and frankly dumb.

When they contributed to this, it was clear to me, if you screw up a true icon, the Schwinn Stingray with something like this.

I damn sure wouldn't trust the boys at American Shopper to bolt together a motorcycle.
Crazy, as Leno doesn't generally make negative comments, most of the time he just avoided what he did not like.

Nothing like playing two big names against each other to get your own ratings (or in this case "views") up.
Cycle drag guy IS a drag.

The way I see it, he was asked a question by the guy from CD, and he answered it. The bike was given to him free of charge as a tie in promo for the Tonight Show and Discovery. I'm sure Jay or any of the guys could spend some time sorting the bike to make it work better if it mattered at all.

I have very little respect for Cycle Drag guy, but his tattletell worked and he got clicks.

Curt, is that unibit thing true? Don't they put their name on it or something, wow

Byron, that looks like it would not be comfortable to ride, could you even stand up to pedal?

I used to watch the show and they'd be in final assembly and couldn't get a bolt to slide thru a hole (maybe powdercoating or chrome interference??) and Paul Jr would whip out the unibit and ream the crap out of it. Happened regularly. Always got a laugh out of that. They weren't averse to other precision tools like hacksaws and hammers as well.

I was at a job 10-15 years ago and the guy had a chopper in his living room. It was covered up. I asked what was under the cover. An OCC chopper of course! The guy had it commissioned. I didn't look at it close enough to assess the workmanship. Theme bikes are just not my thing at all. They look silly and contrived.

I did see this bike at Mecum (not OCC) and I suppose it's sort of a theme bike but I thought it was pretty cool (cue in Higgins: "Curt, you're an idiot, stay in your wheelhouse" ).

OCC built theme bikes and sold them to companies that used them for promos at trade shows, company picnics and the like. They were probably pushed more than riden.

Yeah, I thought it was all for TV and, as you say, other's promotions. Lots of businesses buildings lobby candy.

Funny, I looked up Shaq O'Neal's bike and there are conflicting statements as to who built it. Or maybe he has two. But OCC was mentioned along with Jesse James.

You know what?? I don't care.
